The Running Man Poster by Timothy Pittides World Premiere Exclusive

Timothy Pittides is releasing a poster next week for one of his favorite movies The Running Man, oddly enough one movie that has never had a poster made for it.

Timothy talks about the poster and movie :

The Running Man...whether you enjoy the film for its take on the downfall of society or the great one liners of Schwarzenegger, it is a wonderful little film and after watching it recently, I pondered why no one has done a print for the film. So I decided to take it on myself. The idea of a old bus stop or subway advert came to me rather quickly as I wanted really push the corporate elements and slap it up with blurbs, logos and text. Originally the four runners were to be enclosed in a lighted marquee, but I felt it was a bit lavish and did not go with the theme. Killian was always meant how he is seen here; upfront, in the spotlight and letting the viewers feed his ego. Besides the lighted marquee change, the only other alternation to my thumbnails was Jesse Ventura's Captain Freedom. Originally, he was going to be small, real small. Almost mockingly small, similiar to the way he is treated in the film. But I love the character too much to do that to him, so I made him a little bigger than the regular stalkers but made his blurb small and made a rip run into his bubble. Just a subtle knock rather than yelling it in your face. The color palette was taking from the special edition dvd. Very futuristic and very loud. As I was adding the color separations I had this thing up to 7 colors, including a metallic nickel and metallic gold. Once the print began to come together, it was quite obivious this was overkill and they were removed. Metallic silver is good enough. This print will also glow in the dark. The entire print. Gotta grab the public attention while traveling through those 2019 dirty subway tunnels.
The poster is an 18" x 24" screenprint with 5 colors and glows in the dark
It will be a small edition of only 50 signed and numbered

Price: $35.00

Poster will drop on his website at www.pittidesart.com at a random time on Wednesday October 30th. Tim's newsletter subscribers will receive the exact drop time so make sure to sign up through his website at the "e-news" link by Oct 29th.
