Seventh.Ink just released this poster. It's called "The Butcher" and is inspired by the movie "Gangs of New York". This is an 18x24 screen printed design that is limited to 50 signed and numbered prints. Metallic gold and copper ink along with 3 other colors were used to bring this print to life and give it a nice shine.
The prints are available in the Seventh.Ink Store (www.seventhink.com) and below is the direct link to the product page for this item:
The flag is improperly displayed. The stars are always on the left. See #8 here:

Art is not about following "rules" man, it's about writing your own. Betsy also does not cover how images of flags in art should be shown either
ReplyDelete@MattyD - Cool that you noticed that, one of the subtle points I was making with this piece. Bill Cutting is a self-proclaimed "native patriot" in the film, but his overall views are of a backwards thinking.. the type of mentality that holds people in place and keeps civilization from moving forward. That's the reason that I positioned the flag in this manner, his type of thinking is the opposite of the kind that our nation needs and has needed. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts on this. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteThis poster is so awesome! I bought it yesterday thinking it would be gone quick!! It is such a shame average posters sell out in seconds on Mondo and such a piece is still available! Congrats this is the best I have seen in a long time!
ReplyDeleteGreat poster. But i didn't know that Captain Beefheart starred in Gangs of New York.
