Well, it doesn't happen often - I think this may only be the third or fourth time in my 17 years of postermaking - but the band ran out of posters and we were commissioned to reprint the Breeders poster from earlier this summer. Pictured above is the newer print, which has more yellow in the leaves at the top, has more orange in the heart and the twining vines are a pale blue above the clay grey. These prints are clearly marked "Second Edition" along the bottom edge next to the Bird Machine copyright line. We have very few of the first edition left in our store, and the band has had the second edition on the road with them for a couple weeks now. Signed and numbered edition of 490, most of which are with the band. Thirty American Dollars, available Friday August 2 around Noon Chicago time (CDT).

We will work collectively on printing a poster designed by Jay specifically for this class. We'll discuss the thought process that goes into designing a print, then cut rubylith, burn screens, and print an edition of less than 100 prints using four screens. We will hand-pull prints, and will also use the semi-auto press, and then we'll cover clean-up. Each participant will do hands-on work (and should come dressed appropriately) and will leave with a signed print from the edition. All materials included, but you're welcome to bring a drink or snack to share. Class fee is non-refundable after August 27.
