Collectionzz is on a roll with releasing impressive art over the past 8 months, and it continues tomorrow when they introduce The Black Crowes to their growing lineup of officially licensed prints. The Black Crowes are one of the greatest American rock and roll bands in history, and released their 5x platinum debut album Shake Your Money Maker in 1990 when Rich Robinson was only 21 years old, and Chris Robinson was only 24. Despite their youthfulness, they performed with old soul as though they had been doing it for 50 years. So with that in mind, when creating their first print for the Crowes, Collectionzz wanted to illustrate that balance of youthful energy and old soul, and of course utilize that iconic Crowes logo:
The two-headed crow is meant to symbolize the two Robinson brothers, who have been the only constant members of the band since it's formation in 1984. I spent some time researching the band's art through its history and it has always struck a balance between hippy psychedelia and an aesthetic more serious and sincere. I think the band's music often walks that line as well, and I've tried to capture that feeling in this print. The Black Crowes have had many artists I admire contribute to its visual archive and I'm honored to be among them! - Paul KreizenbeckThe black crowes est. 1984 print by Paul kreizenbeck available Tuesday October 27 at 2pm EDT on iconic.Collectionzz.Com
