PNE: 'The Hangover' Set
In a special arrangement with Todd Phillips, director of the record-breaking hit film 'The Hangover', PNE is releasing a limited number of 'The Hangover' print sets to the poster collecting community. This set of 3 screen printed posters will be released on Thursday, March 18th, 2010 at 12 Noon Pacific (3pm Eastern.) The print will be released on the official Post Neo Explosionism website: http://www.pne3.com

The 3 prints measure 30 x 20 inches and are available in a limited edition of only 100 signed and numbered sets. PNE is also releasing a very limited edition of only 25 variant sets printed on holographic foil stock.

- PNE 'The Hangover' Print Set (Signed & numbered edition of 100 sets) - $150.00 USD + Shipping
- PNE 'The Hangover' Print Set HOLOGRAPHIC FOIL (Signed & numbered edition of 25 sets) - $200.00 USD + Shipping

As a bonus, PNE is giving 4 lucky buyers the opportunity to snag some very limited gifts!

One buyer will receive his complete set of 'Hangover' prints signed by director Todd Phillips!
Each print will be signed by the artist, as well as Todd.

One buyer will receive an additional set of 'Hangover' test prints, along with their order.

Two buyers will receive an additional BONUS print, created exclusively for Todd Phillips only and not made available at all to the general public. This bonus print (pictured below) was produced as a gift from PNE to Todd Phillips and the cast and crew of 'The Hangover'. The image is sort of an inside-joke between PNE and Todd: it showcases the mysterious and raunchy 'Mr. Creepy' (remember the scene in the elevator?) He appears, under different credited names, in many of Phillips' films... always involved in the weirdest scenarios. In the film "Road Trip," he makes an appearance on the bus, wearing a track suit and a curly black wig. He makes a cameo near the start of "Old School," again, wearing a track suit and the same curly black wig. The character also appeared briefly in "The Hangover" - again, remember the elevator scene? If you pay attention and do enough scouting around, you'll be able to find out just who 'Mr. Creepy' actually is. Let's just say that Todd Phillips absolutely LOVED this print, cleverly put together in beautiful day-glow by Justin Hampton.

New PNE: The Hangover Movie Poster Set

No comments:

A short while ago Justin Hampton of PNE was contacted by movie director Todd Phillips. He explained that he wanted to do something special for the cast and crew of his movie 'The Hangover,' as it had become the highest grossing comedy of all time. A great rapport developed and Phillips commissioned PNE for a special project. Todd asked Hampton to oversee the art direction of his vision with PNE. He wanted Justin, Emek and Jermaine to create a set of commemorative rock-art style prints that embraced the no-holds-barred and reckless abandon of his hit film. "Make the posters...just wrong" he said. With this inspiration, the trifecta set out to do just that. After months in development the project is now finished and the set of 3 prints is complete, each showcasing a different slant on the film.

Recently, Justin flew to Los Angeles and met with Todd at his editing studio in Malibu to finalize the project and deliver the prints in person. Todd and everyone at the production company were instantly in love with the set. The prints are now all on their way to the homes of all of the cast and crew.

In a special arrangement with Todd, he has agreed to let PNE release a limited number of 'The Hangover' print sets to the poster collecting community. This set of 3 screen printed posters will be released next week.

The 3 prints measure 30 x 20 inches and are available in a limited edition of only 100 signed and numbered sets. There is also a very limited edition of only 25 variant sets printed on holographic foil stock.

Justin Hampton's print focuses in on everyone's favorite little baby from the film; Carlos- the unofficial 'fifth member' of the Hangover bachelor crew. And yes, his stripper-mother (portrayed by the lovely Heather Graham) also makes an appearance in this print. Todd Phillips said "This poster is hilarious!...Amazing colors!"

Emek's vision encompassed the totality of the film: he adds a highly detailed collage of images from the film, anchored by the sun-glassed 'Alan', portrayed by Zach Galifianakis.

Everything from major stars to tiny details is pictured in this print: can you find all the references? Todd said about this print what most folks say about an Emek print: "Look at the detail!"

Jermaine Rogers' poster focuses on one of the most memorable moments of the film: the Tyson scene. Jermaine depicts Tyson under the spell of Phil Collins, whose visage hovers 'Big Brother'-like, in the darkness. Tyson raises his cigarette lighter in creepy homage. This print also glows in the dark! Todd Phillips remarked, "Tyson is gonna LOVE this!"

Again, a limited amount of these sets are being released to the public.

PNE enjoyed working with Todd Phillips on this project, and certainly have laid the groundwork to do similar projects in this arena in the future.

'The Hangover' poster set will be released next week at: http://www.pne3.com

An additional email will follow in the next few days with detailed information on release date and time, as well as news of VERY special prizes that will be given out to 4 random buyers of 'The Hangover' set. Keep your eyes peeled!

No comments:

'I'D LOVE TO TURN YOU ON...' (REGULAR EDITION)
This screen print measures 25 x 25 inches. The artwork displays PNE's weird tribute to one of the greatest bands of modern times, The Beatles. Drawing a vibe from their combined childhood love of 1970's carnival art and pop exploitation, the artists of PNE have created the type of kitsch imagery that is a constant feature hiding in the underbelly of rock and roll culture.

The regular edition of this print is signed by all 3 artists and is part of an edition of 200 copies: PNE debuted this piece recently at the TRPS Poster Show in San Francisco, California. As promised, a limited amount of these posters were held back and are now being made available to collectors worldwide via the PNE website this Friday http://www.pne3.com The print features brilliant psychedelic colors, including a seamless color fade.

Regular Edition: $80 USD + SHIPPING

'I'D LOVE TO TURN YOU ON...' (SPECIAL EDITION)

PNE'S FIRST COLLABORATIVE ART PRINT: 'THE 27 CLUB'

No comments:

'The 27 Club' Art Print (Regular Edition)
All 3 members of Post Neo Explosionism are proud to release their first collaborative art print entitled: 'The 27 Club'. This 7-color screen print measures approximately 28 x 24 inches. The imagery embraces one of the most enduring cult phenomena of rock music: the pantheon of influential musicians who passed from this mortal world at the age of 27. Of course, there were a few others in the history of rock and roll who perished at age 27 and are not depicted here. PNE decided to choose a few of our favorites for this print: can you identify them?

This collaborative print is the first of various PNE art prints planned for the future, addressing a variety of topics ranging from the sublime to the utterly ridiculous. Enjoy.

The regular edition of 'The 27 Club' is limited to 200 signed and numbered prints. Signed by all 3 artists.
$100 USD + SHIPPING

'The 27 Club' Art Print (Black 'Glow' Edition)

$100 USD + SHIPPING

PNE at TRPS and 'American Artifact' Movie Premiere
Make sure you mark down Saturday June 20th on your calendar. It's going to be a big day for poster fans everywhere! Justin Hampton will be representing PNE at the Rock Art By the Bay poster artists show at Fort Mason in San Francisco, California. It's free to all, and Justin will have an extremely limited amount of the '27 Club' print available on a first come / first served basis, along with PNE stickers and maybe a few other surprises. BUT, Justin will have one item in particular that will only be available at the TRPS show...and it's in conjunction with a special event happening in San Francisco on Saturday. That evening TRPS will be sponsoring the world premiere of the long-awaited documentary film 'American Artifact: The Rise of American Rock Poster Art'. This is the world public premiere of the film. The film features interviews with your favorite poster artists from the 60's to the present (including copious amounts of all 3 members of PNE), and chronicles the history and rise of the art form.

In a special arrangement with the filmmaker and TRPS, PNE has produced a very limited and special version of 'The 27 Club' print that advertises the world premiere of the film! This item will only be available at the TRPS show in San Francisco...period. Only 40 of these prints will be available: just look for PNE/ Justin Hampton's booth at the show. Again, there will be absolutely no holds or reservations for this item: first come / first served. Once sold out at the TRPS show, it is gone.

*A side note*- Hampton will be attending the 7:00 screening of the movie and take part in a Q&A with the director and various other artists.

'ANNOUNCING THE RETURN OF POST NEO EXPLOSIONISM'

No comments:

After a hiatus of several years, Post Neo Explosionism (PNE) returns with new releases and artwork. Post Neo Explosionism is a collaborative founded by three mainstays of rock poster art: Justin Hampton, Emek and Jermaine Rogers. They came together in an unprecedented union of talents that began with a group showing of their works in the fall of 2002 at Seattle's famed Showbox Theater. Here, the seeds of PNE were sown. The three artists soon elevated their creative experiment to a new level. From 2002-2005, PNE helped pioneer the idea of the 'poster series' by creating prints for each of the dates of tours by Queens Of The Stone Age, Audioslave, and Built To Spill (respectively).

**QUICK INFO**

STICKERS: Available Friday May 8, 2009, at a random time between 11AM and 2PM Pacific Time, details below.

PNE'S FIRST-EVER COLLABORATIVE PRINT: Available later this month; keep your eye on PNE3.com for details.
Justin Hampton, Emek and Jermaine Rogers each have been working in the field of 'pop art' since the early '90s. They have over 30 years of professional experience between them and are regarded as leaders in the field of modern rock and roll poster art.

Now, PNE has reunited to release an amazing selection of die-cut vinyl stickers. PNE Sticker Series #1 will be available for order on Friday, May 8, 2009. The introductory series contains 21 striking designs (7 from each artist), as well as the new PNE3 logo sticker. These high-quality, full-color, screen-printed stickers have an average size of 6 inches at their longest dimensions. Finally, you can share your love of the artwork in other places besides your wall!

Stickers will be available for order individually or in a limited edition collector's set which contains all 21 stickers, the PNE logo sticker, and 3 mini art prints (one from each artist) signed and numbered.

This month will also see the release of the first ever collaborative art print by PNE. The screen-print will be very limited, signed and numbered by all 3 artists and only available from PNE3.com. New merchandise will also be revealed in the next few weeks and months, including t-shirts and all-new collaborative art prints and print sets.

PNE Sticker Series #1 will be available for order via PayPal from the PNE web site's new online shopping cart: http://pne3.com/buy.html this Friday, May 8th at a random time between 11AM and 2PM Pacific Time (2PM-5PM Eastern). Absolutely no pre-sales will occur.
