This release falls under State of Shock Studios AfFOILdables series that focuses on print designed specifically for foil paper at an economical price. The top of R2's head is appropriately reflective/holographic, as well as the logo and a few other areas. He's always considered R2 to be an underappreciated player in A New Hope. He's as instrumental to the demise of the Death Star as anyone and  thought it would be interesting to focus on him at the climax of the story.

Darin Shock Yonder Mountain String Band Roanoke Poster Release

Halloween night in Roanoke, Virgina Yonder Mountain String Band paid homage to the films of Quentin Tarantino by performing many songs from his movies during their sets. The band had Darin Shock create a poster for the show and Darin carried the theme through perfectly with his own Monster Mash / Reservoir Dogs poster. The poster is a 24x 18", 5 color screen print and an edition of 75. Darin's artist edition of 31 will go up for sale for $25 at Noon EST on Tuesday.

VICTORY Johnny Drama Entourage By Darin Shock Free Friday Poster Giveaway

Entourage was the ultimate buddy series, four friends living large in Los Angeles having the time of lives. It was one of my favorite shows and always made me laugh. It just so happens it was one of Darin Shocks favorite shows as well. One of his favorite characters on the show was Johnny Drama. He is less famous & less attractive than his younger brother & therefore full of insecurity and occasional rage. He's got some talent but he hasn't "made it." He's mostly known for his role as Tarvold on the short lived science fiction cult classic "Viking Quest." Tarvold's catchphrase (you guessed it) "VICTORY!!" is hilariously referred to several times during the run of the show. Darin thought it would be great to combine this fictional, fictional character with that of a stereotypical WWII propaganda poster. This poster was Darin's contribution to Hero Complex Gallery's first group show entitled "Weapon of Choice."

Darin Shock's poster for the Gallery 1988 "There's always money in the banana stand" Show

Gallery 1988's Arrested Development show, which opens Friday night in LA. Darin Shock created "A Magician Named GOB" is a 13x19" giclee print, it is a s/n edition of 50, and will be available for $30 at the opening and shortly thereafter on their website.

"When this opportunity presented itself I immediately knew I would focus on my favorite character of the show, GOB (played by Will Arnett). Arnett's comedic timing and delivery of the spoiled, rich imbecile was simply fantastic and perfectly set the tone of the show. I also love the concept of a bad magician.- Darin Shock

UPDATE: It was brought to my attention by Dillon that he was number #45. If you remember last year I was able to number the comments so finding the winner was easier. Blogger changed things this year by adding replies to comments thus wiping out the ability to number each comment. I did not notice that Stranger was replying to comments and did not know they were counted as comments as well. Total number of comments actually is 60. So instead of redoing everything both will get something and I learned something for next time.

Legends of Hardball art print sets from State of Shock Studios on sale

State of Shock Studios have a very limited amount of complete sets that they just made available for the Legends of Hardball print series. Each set is 5 posters for the price of 4, making it a total of only $60. The sets will all be the same number in the edition and again, each poster is a 13x19" signed and numbered giclee print on 100 lb. paper. There are still some individual ones remaining for $15/piece. They have a very small number of the individual prints remaining as well.
