Tammy Harrington Lifes A Peach Print Release From Sally Centigrade Gallery

No comments:

This week we visit Arkansas for Sally Centigrade Gallery's Travel By Screen Series, where a poster is made for a popular area code for each state. The artist is Tammy Harrington and the print is titled Life's A Peach.

Tammy talks about her print:
I was inspired by the rich history of the peach orchards in Johnson County Arkansas (479 area code). The elevation of the Ozark Mountains supports the growth of this juicy yellow-fleshed fruit. Just a short distance off of old Highway 64, peach lovers can still stop by an orchard to pick their own fruit right off the tree. Or you could attend the annual Johnson County Peach Festival to participate in the peach pit spitting contest. I chose to use a vintage peach label to pay homage to the time when this fruit was king in Johnson County.
Tammy Harrington is an Arkansas printmaker and Art professor at the University of the Ozarks.

Life’s a Peach
18” x 24” White Stonehenge paper Reduction Relief on Linoleum

On sale 23 June 2017 at noon mountain time at www.sallycentigrade.storenvy.com:

Also I'm happy to announce Sally Centigrade Gallery as the newest sponsor on the blog as well. Thank you Scott !!

Please Welcome Alexander Hanke New Blog Sponsor

No comments:

German artist Alexander Hanke is friends with Lars P Krause who told Alexander to check out the blog. Alexander is an art director and graphic designer in the field of Graphic and Packaging Design.
Some years ago he was born in the wild lands of east Germany. Early on he discovered how to eat a yummy pencil and what to do with funny stuff like paper and walls. So he started working for different clients back in the early days of 1998, long before he moved out to Cologne and afterwards to the small city of Hildesheim to graduate in Corporate Design in 2008. In the same year he established the label “Zum Heimathafen” to separate his art driven mind from the day-to-day graphic design job.
At the moment Alexander is working as a freelance artist and creating posters, shirts or flyers as well as Corporate Design and packaging solutions for clients around the world.

So put your hand together and welcome Alexander as a new sponsor on the blog. Head over to his website to see all his work www.ZumHeimathafen.com

Please Welcome POP!NK Editions To Inside The Rock Poster

No comments:

I am very happy to announce a new sponsor on the blog, POP!NK Editions. Over the past year I have shown many of their releases and recently bumped into them in person on accident. I was at a gallery opening last month and saw 3 guys looking at the work. I could tell they were not "civilians" from the way they were examining the work. So I asked a friend of mine, hey who are these guys he says they are from POP!NK. Now I had only spoken to them by email and was happy to meet them in person at last. We hung out for a couple of nights at some gallery's and had fun talking art and everything else.

Who are these guys you ask ?  Artists & printers Steve Seeley, Zach Schrey and Curtis Readel are the creative and technical print-wizards behind POP!NK Editions. POP!NK specializes in hand-pulled fine art screen prints. No giclee's or digital prints, just screen printed editions all printed by hand. Jordan Nickel aka POSE, Hebru Brantley and L'Amour Supreme are some of the established artists they are working with. Other emerging artists include Ermsy, Upendo, and BORT.

Visit their website (www.popinked.com) for available editions and follow on Instagram @POPINKED to see projects that they are working on and for upcoming print release information.

Zeb Love Free Friday Poster Giveaway & Sponsorship Announcement

75 comments:

This post is going to cover three things, all about Zeb Love so bare with me and read all of it.

First PLEASE WELCOME Zeb Love as the newest sponsor of Inside the Rock Poster. I was very excited when he told me he wanted to jump on board. His work just keeps getting better and better and I'm more than thrilled to have him join.

A little about Zeb in his own words:
I started making art prints at the end of 2010. A friend invited me to be in a small group show. That show really made me interested in pursuing screenprinting. I bought some clamps, one screen, a squeegee, and set up a table in my small bedroom. Since I could only afford one screen, I had to hand paint all my backgrounds if I wanted multiple colors. I did that for about a year and a half. A little after that, I started working at a print shop by my house. They let me use their equipment and studio space in return for me cleaning out their screens.

Next Zeb is doing 3 posters for the Avett Brothers shows this weekend starting in Seattle (tonight), Spokane and Missoula. Check them out above. I just love the one with the motorcycle, looks like a vintage racing poster from the 20's & 30's.

That brings us to the last part, yes I gave away an Avett Brothers poster last week. But after seeing that one for Seattle I asked Zeb hey can we give that away this Friday it is a beautiful poster. He was kind enough to say yes.

Now go to the top of the post above the picture and click on comments or scroll down (depends on how you see this post) to leave a comment about motorcycles to have a chance at winning the poster. Don't worry if your comment does not appear immediately I have to approve them before they are published. I will use the random number generator to pick a winner. Entries are limited to ONE PER PERSON PER HOUSEHOLD. Please leave your name with the comment, comments without names will not be accepted. Entries will be accepted until Midnight Pacific Daylight Time PDT Sunday October 20 that's two days to enter with the winner announced on Sunday

THANK YOU AGAIN to Zeb Love for becoming a sponsor on the blog and for providing a killer poster for the giveaway to you my fine readers !!! Buy sure to check out his work at http://www.zeblove.com/

Todd Slater Welcome the Newest Sponsor of the Blog

No comments:

For the past 10 years Todd Slater has been creating some of the most iconic rock posters and movie posters. Jack White, Neil Young, Ween, The Black Keys and Primus are just some of the long list of rock acts he has worked with over the years all the while forging his own unique style based on the music for each group he is working with. Prints for clients like Gallery1988 and Mondo have showen his range of talent while tackling a new challenge. I still think his Office Space poster with Milton made out of office supplies is still one of the best movie posters ever.

So it is with great pleasure and a huge honor I welcome Todd Slater as a sponsor for the blog. Check out his work at ToddSlater.net and get on his mailing list.

Please Welcome a New Sponsor VGKids Printing

No comments:

Please welcome a new sponsor to Inside The Rock Poster Frame, VGKids !!!

VGKids is a print shop located in Ypsilanti, Michigan that started off as something complete different but has now become one of the top printers in the country. Printing posters for artists like Godmachine, Brian Ewing, The Silent Giants, Shag and many others. Plus they also print shirts, stickers, buttons, CD/LP packaging and banners; basically if you want your name on something they can do it.

A little history of VGKids as told by the founder James Marks

The story of VGKids begins in 1997, when I opened an all-vegan natural food store in the poetically unlikely Pontiac, Michigan. 17 years old and using a small inheritance set aside for college, "The Vegetarian Grocer," sold snacks and groceries in the front, distributed records and zines in the back, and hosted punk shows in the basement.

The folks that volunteered and hung out at VG became known as VG Kids. We bought www.vgkids.com as an umbrella for all of the various projects people were working on. Good-hearted enterprises including bands, record labels, book publishing, body piercing jewelry, an attempt at a Food Not Bombs chapter, and so much more.

In 1999, the grocery store closed due to a cash shortage, and VGKids was reborn with a strictly screen printing ethos in Ypsilanti, MI. Things started slowly, but after 2 years, with quality standards on the rise and word of mouth traveling quickly, VGKids stabilized as a viable indie business. To meet increasing demands, DIY gear was slowly replaced with special purpose, industrial screen printing equipment. The deep knowledge of the process gained from those years of "doing it ourselves" helped endlessly during the transition into a full-service merchandising company.

The theme that ties all of these events together comes down to our basic moral code. We believe in doing the right thing, simply because its the right thing to do. It means our clients get treated like the friends they are, we work diligently to make our products as environmentally sound as possible, and pay an above average wage to our employees.
Its what makes VGKids more than a batch of t-shirts or a run of stickers. More than the poster for your upcoming show or a record jacket for a new project. VGKids is a collection of motivated, forward thinking people blurring the lines between employee and volunteer, hobbyist and professional, friend and family-- all of us working together for each of us to be as successful as we possibly can.

Visit VGKids.com to learn more about all the services they provide. Thank you also to VGKids for joining Inside The Rock Poster Frame
