Aaron Horkey & Pushead Hyperstoic Show Prints Release

THE VACVVM will release a few copies of a collaborative Hyperstoic poster by Aaron Horkey and Pushead on Thursday.
It's a 22.5" x 36" thirteen color screenprint with an edition of 183 (per colorway).
Each version will cost $175.

PUSHEAD @ NYCC featuring a new figure and print

Some great info from Kirkland Jue of Toybot Studios on Saturday, October 9 PUSHEAD will be revealing at 3:00pm via the TOY TOKYO booth #2871, "SPARROW #15" SPECIAL BROWN SLIPCASED VERSION w/ bookplate and 2 signed and numbered giclees which are limited to only 30 pieces! He will also be revealing a new figure on Saturday. Then, at 5:30pm, PUSHEAD will head over to the IDW booth #2115, to sign copies of the second pressing of "SPARROW #15", which will see it's first release there.

Upper Playground's Exclusive Pre-Release at Comic Con James Jean, Alex Pardee, and Pushead T-shirts

Upper Playground will be holding an exclusive pre-release of some of our most exciting T-shirts this year at Comic Con, San Diego.

Five years ago, you could ask 10 comic book and illustrations fanatics who their favorite artist was, and 9 out of 10 would have said James Jean. Using that style as his base, James has evolved into one of the most prolific and sought after fine artists in contemporary art. Fusing erotic themes with fine art, Jean has solo exhibitions around the world as well as commercial endeavors with Prada, The New York Times, and Rolling Stone. In keeping with the heritage of Upper Playground teaming with the best artists of the present, James has given us images for three new t-shirts, all of which will be pre-released at Comic Con.

Also exclusive to Comic Con will be two t-shirts from Alex Pardee, who has utilized his twisted animation style to do extensive illustration work for various comics and is fresh off of releasing his visually stunning animated series with the WB Network, “Chadam.”

Lastly will be two shirts from Pushead, whose body of work with Metallica and other heavy metal bands stands for itself, but furthermore his line work and characters have made him a direct influence to many of the prominent comic book authors today.

Currently, these tees will not be available anywhere but Comic Con at the Upper Playground booth #4631.

Juxtapoz October 2009 Issue Curated by Pushead

The forthcoming Halloween-themed issue of Juxtapoz will be guest curated by legendary, gore-obsessed artist Pushead. “Pushead hung out at the Juxtapoz offices this past month helping bring his vision to fruition, which includes featuring the likes of Eric So, Rockin’ Jelly Bean, Wes Benscoter, Takato Yamamoto, Kristin Callahan, and many more. On top of all that, Pushead added a few new twists to our layout we’ve never tired before. Definitely not an issue to miss. Look out for it hitting newsstands and mailboxes in a few weeks.”

Pushead Skull Captain Figure | SDCC 2009 Exclusive Orange Glow

If you were excited about the ‘Gangway Ye Crowsnest’ colorup of Pushead’s Skull Captain, here’s another SDCC 2009 Exclusive to cause open mouth lockjaw. Rumored to be made of leftover Secret Base orange glow vinyl, this Skull Captain glows bright, with a full left arm and a hook right hand. Super limited, like prototype production numbers. Be on the look out for these commanding ship at the Pushead event at SDCC this Thursday.

Pushead @ SDCC (Thursday, 7.23)

Pushead continues his annual tradition of a tour de force event at SDCC. This year he brings his kaiju goodness and other surprises to Toy Tokyo (#5237) on Thursday (7.23) starting at 4:40 PM. While Pushead is keeping things on the down low for now, we do know that he will release a special SDCC exclusive Skullcaptain FHP4 ‘Gangway Ye Crowsnest Copa’. in an extremely limited event for $94 each. This edition was handpainted at the factory to match Pushead’s original.

After Pushead reveals his treasures and collectors select their favorites, Mike Sutfin will hold a mini session offering several customs @ 6:40 PM. Not to be missed, even if you have just a passing interest in Kaiju – it’s part of the SDCC experience for vinyl toy fans.

Pushead and Usugrow Exclusives at Paradise Toy Land

Paradise Toy Land Secret Base House of Secret show has been very busy! They’ve got over 600 Secret Base figures in the show. Up for grabs online will be two exclusives: Pushead’s Aye Matey Thar be OZOBOZO Skull Pirate and Usugrow’s The Salvation Ink (Gold Print). The pieces will be available starting April 27th at 13:30 Taiwan time. Ordering info and prices can be found here. I’ve personally ordered from Paradise before, and it’s the easiest overseas ordering imaginable. Someday I’ll hopefully visit their shop. And if you’re in the area, stop by to see the House of Secret show, which beings April 24th.

New from NEIGHBORHOOD is the capsule of items created by iconic artist Pushead. The collection’s focus is on a graphic combining Pushead’s familiar skull set against an eagle motif. A jacket, t-shirt and sticker set all bear this particular graphic.

Pushead’s Skull Captain and Skull Pirates Pictures

Wow. Just spied these while clicking around on Artoyz’ Flickr. Characters by Pushead (fansite). Production by Secret Base. Coolness factor: exponential. There have been a couple other Skull Pirates to date, including some metallics. I love the green and blue/green colorway personally. Pushead is in a class of his own. Are these out yet?
