Tim Lee Done Gone Gallery Show at Stranger Factory

No comments:

Opening tonight at Stranger Factory in Albuquerque, New Mexico is Tim Lee's exhibition of new original paintings and art. 21 original paintings on wood and canvas will be shown, 15 of them are brand spanking new for the Stranger Factory show. The Stranger Factory Project Room will feature “Done Gone“, an exhibit by recovering illustrator, Tim Lee. Tim’s work combines music, Americana, pop-culture and bits of Southern Gothic, stirred together in nostalgic worlds and imagined time. With elements of cubism mixed with an Eastern European folktale feel, “Done Gone” has a unique style and flavor.

The opening reception on Friday, June 7th from 6 – 9 PM with Tim in attendance. In addition, Tim will be teaching a workshop with Valency Genis on Sunday June 9th.

This piece is titled “Spirit Guide,” and is painted on constructed wood panels. I love the pumpkin skull head atop another creature’s wooden antlers as it is guided through the forest. The earth tone colors are perfect for this woodsy feel piece on wood! Plus, look at the grin on that big fella!

A big weekend for Tim Lee, a new print is dropping and he is having a Gallery Show at Amplified Art to celebrate his permanent space in the gallery.

First the print, which is just incredible titled I'll Fly Away. The print which according to Tim almost drove him crazy since he hand drew so many leaves is 18 x 24 - 3-color screen-print on Cougar bright white paper. Edition of 100. Signed and numbered. Popping orange crush! I must say this is one of my favorite print's he has released.

Also on Saturday Tim Lee is marking the opening of his permanent gallery space at Amplified Art in Raleigh with liquor, guitars and birds. Dead Will Dance opening reception starts at 7pm. When Amplified Art hosted Tim's exhibit "Ancient Tones" this past March, they quickly realized Tim's talent and in turn began devising ways to incorporate him into the Amplified Art space. Because of his high level of artistic output, it soon became clear that Tim's work demanded it's own space. Beginning November 17th, Tim Lee will begin his permanent residence at Amplified Art and they're gonna party in celebration!

In addition to the wealth of Tim Lee art Amplified Art already have on display, they'll be releasing an array of new paintings, woodies, illustrations & prints!

On top of all the great art they'll have on display that night, Amplified Art are thrilled to have Jack the Radio in the gallery for a rare acoustic set!
