Hey it's Friday time for another giveaway from the blog that loves it's readers more than any other. Summer is unfortunately winding down, the sweet corn is ripe and ready to pick. Unless like me you decided not to grow it this year to feed the raccoons, squirrels and crows and not have any for yourself.
Well this crow just wants to make your wall look better. And Munk One wanted to help by making this available to one lucky winner. The poster is for the July 4th 2010 Pearl Jam show in Werchter, Belgium. It is signed and numbered out of only 100.

I love Pearl Jam - have a whole wall of prints framed. As I love corn on the cob and birds with shades-I think this would go great besides them. Actually I really like the style of this.

This Munk One is an amazing print! Beautifully designed with striking colors it looks too good to be true.
ReplyDeleteLove Pearl Jam, saw them about 20x (not a huge amount for a fan but more than many). Got to see them in London last year and picked up the poster. First international one and this would be second if its mine. PJ posters have such great memories attached often even if its jsut from the official bootleg and this one would be no exception!

What can I say I want to win this so bad,it is beyond words. But here are a few, pretty please, pretty please, pretty please!!!! I was 13 when TEN cam out. I remember buying the tape at Wal-Mart the second day it was out. I was the only person among my circle of friends that knew anything about them. I remember helping my dad clean out my uncle's old house in Houston over a weekend< righgt after I bought that album. We cleaned, broke tile off the floor, painted, and pulled carpet, all in the Texas summer heat. I listened to TEN over and over on my Walkman the entire weekend. I must have changed the batteries 3 times. It was a defining moment for me, helping to shape my ability to appreciate great music. I remember that like it was yesterday, even though i'm now 31. I have purchased every album since then, and will continue to do so, and I am still moved by them to this day. I would love to have this poster. Maybe I will mount it next to that old cassette. ReplyDeleteI really appreciate the fact that bands I love take an interest in the work that can go into their concert posters. Some bands have created a sort of identity out of it, (I'm thinking Jack White with Rob Jones), while others like Pearl Jam have experimented a little more with what different artists can offer them creatively.
ReplyDeleteIt's such an important thing, too, for many people because when they bring that print home, all of the songs played and emotions felt during the show are necessarily transmitted to the piece of paper that is now up on the wall.
Good thing posters like this are AWESOME. I love to be reminded of my Pearl Jam shows and even more, I love being reminded with a great piece of art. Thanks for the contest!

ReplyDeleteI dont grow corn but can concur that the squirrels & crows are somewhat pesky (no racoons). Squirrels eat all my bird feed & the latter scare off everything else. My neighbours i think enjoy watching me chase them down the garden. Have tried chilli powder in the feedmix, but they seem to like it. Dagnammit, curry loving squirrels!.
