Artist statement:
"Human development, capitalism, and greed are having extensive negative effects on our oceans, and our wide biodiversity systems. Unfortunately, as we progress further we have impacted our oceans for the worst, and we have only been reacting to these adverse effects, rather than proactively trying to prevent them. I'm hoping my piece 'Bleak' for the 2019 'In Peril' Print release serves as a warning to people, and not a prophecy of things to come." Sam Yong
