Batman V Superman Dawn of Justice Trailer First Look

No comments:

Batcostume for the movie

Batman V Superman is one of the most anticipated movies in years and this trailer which was supposed to be shown April 20 has leaked. Yes this is the real thing and judging from the Portuguese subtitles either it came from Europe or Brazil

We see a brief flash of Affleck outside the costume before he lumbers forward, looking like the bulkiest Batman yet, before he squares off against Superman with his illuminated white eyes, grumbling in a gravelly baritone: “Tell me… do you bleed? You will.” The white eyes, by the way, come from Batman’s “detective mode” built into his cowl from both Grant Morrison’s Batman: Arkham Asylum and Frank Miller’s seminal series of graphic novels Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, which gives him not only heightened detection skills and night vision, but also white eyes.

Making IT Art Documentary with Brian Ewing & Others

No comments:

“MAKING IT” is an Art Documentary about the daily struggles of making a living, staying creative, and making it all up as they go along. The Documentary features three Illustrators, Andrew Bawidamann, Eric Fortune, and Brian Ewing. They all worked very hard to bring some honesty and levity to discussing their educations and careers in commercial art. The film explores the life and career of a commercial artist through the eyes of students, teachers and professional artists you're probably familiar with.

It's finally done and was released the other day via itunes, xbox, Amazon, Google Play and some other VOD companies I never heard of.

Here's some info about where to find the film to rent http://makingitpictures.com/

People can rent the movie with bonus content through vhx

Cult Classic Horror Blu-Ray/DVD Covers for MGM/Fox Halloween Series

No comments:

Earlier in 2014, Skuzzles partnered with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) Studios and 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment in developing artwork for 13 cult classic horror films. The DVDs and Blu-rays feature illustrated limited edition artwork created by a collective of incredible artists from all over the globe (Dan Mumford, Ghoulish Gary Pulin, Jason Edmiston, Todd Slater, Randy Ortiz, Josh Budich, Justin Osborne, Paul Shipper, Gregorz Domaradzki "Gabz", Francesco Francavilla) .

At Skuzzles, they really want to offer artists the opportunity to work on titles they're passionate about. Skuzzles try to direct and pair artists where the it seems fit, but ultimately they want the artist to have equal say in how the art is executed. The goal is to keep the end result as close to the artists original vision as possible. Having said this, here' s a little bit of feedback from the artists regarding their concepts behind the artwork:

Todd Slater: Invasion of the Body Snatchers - "What if the pod with the flower was shaped similar to a sternum in a ribcage (it's really close now) and the white tendrils expand and extend from the pod to form more of the ribs and skeleton? The background could be deep dark outer space. My thought is that *the pods are building a new you*."

Randy Ortiz: Silence of the Lambs - "...I wanted to go a more symbolic route and have it be clean and classy."

Dan Mumford: Last house on the left - "... I found the scene where Mari walks into the water to be quite haunting and probably the most pivotal moment, so i worked from that and created quite a haunting still moment based around the lake she walks into. We also have two of the murderers standing there and her necklace dangling down with the smallest hint of blood red seeping through."

Jason Edmiston: Child's Play - "For my Child's Play art, I wanted to show Chucky's maniacal character, at the pinnacle of his power. I love the black magic quality of the movie, and tried to capture the killer doll in mid-chant, surrounded by crazy voodoo lightning, He scared me when I first saw this movie as a teen, and I wanted my cover art to evoke the same feeling. Most of the Child's play art is dark, with a black background. I thought my brightly lit piece would stand out from previous iterations."

All the films can be found at your favorite retailer with the new artwork.

Twenty-Four by Thirty-Six Poster Movie Kickstarter Launches Today

No comments:

"Twenty-Four by Thirty-Six" is a film that explores the world of movie poster art, past and present; the artists who create it, companies that commission it, galleries that display it, and collectors and fans who hang it. Kevin Burke is the man who is the Director and Producer of the film.

Beginning with the golden age of movie poster art in the 70's and 80's they'll be interviewing a number of high profile art personalities from that era, including legendary film marketing director, Tony Seiniger, the man behind the inception of the original "Jaws" poster. They'll be speaking with Andrea Alvin, a long time member of the film marketing community and wife of the late, great John Alvin, creator of such iconic works as the original one-sheets for "Blade Runner", E.T.", "Blazing Saddles", "Gremlins", and countless more. Placing a special focus on John and his career they'll ask the question of where traditional illustrated posters disappeared to, and why.

Moving into this decade, Kevin has been interviewing and following several modern screenprint artists, in various stages of their careers, through the process of producing illustrated movie poster art and speaking with them about their influences, their challenges, dealing with studios, print houses, and galleries. They've conducted interviews with independent print house Skuzzles to pick their brains about why illustrated art is so important to movie fans. They've visited Mondo in Austin, Texas to discuss the enormous impact that they've had on bringing illustrated film art back into the limelight. Kevin will even be profiling some collectors of movie poster art and speaking with them about its importance, how to store it and how to frame it (yep. They're going so far as to visit a frame manufacturer to get an inside look on custom framing movie art).

To top it all off, they're putting together a one of a kind gallery show featuring a ton of original posters from some really incredible artists.

It's a hugely ambitious project, but it's a story that needs to be told. And they intend to tell the hell out of it.

"Show Us the Goods" Contest

Post No Joes Productions is proud to announce commencement of the "Show Us the Goods" Contest. In an effort to promote their upcoming film "Twenty-Four by Thirty-Six", Post No Joes is giving you poster art collectors, fans, and even amateur artists a chance to appear in the film by uploading a 15 second video of you showing off your favorite poster from your collection.

It can be an official piece of marketing material like a one-sheet, a limited edition screenprint inspired by any film, or even a poster that you've created yourself. Winning submissions will be strung together and played in the film over the end credits. Simply visit www.twentyfourbythirtysix.com for more information and to upload your submission. There you will also find a link to the Kickstarter program that goes live today at 10 am EST.

Here are the official screenprints that were created exclusively for the film, only available through the Kickstarter Campaign (the first with a metallic ink variant and the second with a GID variant) shown above by Paul Ainsworth and Matt Ryan Tobin.

Sam Jackson suggests hitting a 'big bud of Hulk' before seeing The Avengers

No comments:
I'd like to know how many interviews Samuel L. Jackson had given before this one, because I can almost hear him thinking "I've HAD IT with these MOTHERFUCKING QUESTIONS about the MOTHERFUCKING AVENGERS!" During a chat with the Reelz Channel, Jackson twists the Q-and-A conversation into something more "High Times" than Marvel Comics. Every question literally goes to pot as Jackson riffs on "Hulk weed" while the hipster interviewer sweats through his pocket square. "You should see 'The Avengers' after you hit one great big bud of Hulk," Jackson says. "Because this movie is a MOTHERFUCKER! YES!"  I saw it last night straight it was good. Several people on Twitter I asked suggested not seeing the 3-D version, so I didn't

Just Like Being There GigPoster Documentary Movie accepted into SxSW 2012 see the new trailer

No comments:

For almost the past year director Scout Shannon and producer Johanna Goldstein have been crisscrossing the country shooting their film Just Like Being There. It has now been accepted and will debut at South by Southwest in Austin in March.

In the gig poster community, artists such as Daniel Danger and Jay Ryan prove that creating this artwork is a way of life, more than just a career. These artists are at the forefront of an expansion of the gig poster genre. MONDO's reinvigoration of "the film poster as an art form," and Gallery 1988's theme based exhibits are only two ways in which this artwork is reaching a greater public. In a community with strong roots, dating back to the 1960s, this expansion is controversial- refreshing to some, sacrilegious to others.

The Amazing Incredible Gig Poster Film Yet To Be Titled

No comments:

With Gig Posters, it isn't enough to love a piece of art. You have to do something about it.

Following Daniel Danger, Kevin Tong and Jay Ryan, this film will explore a new school of Gig Poster artists who have expanded their repertoire to include art inspired by books, films, music and TV. Stepping even father beyond the bounds, we will see these artists explore solo shows, bringing a Gig Poster aesthetic to their independent creations.

Today the team was in New York filming Daniel Danger setting up his show at Tara McPherson's Cotton Candy Machine Gallery. That's where the picture above was taken.

They also need help funding the project. By helping them fund the project you can get a huge variety of prints in return. Such as they'll send you an 8 x 11 inch screenprint by one of their featured artists (Daniel Danger, Jay Ryan, Kevin Tong). AND they'll send you a dated & numbered screenprint from an EMERGING POSTER ARTIST of your choosing (which you can see on the webpage). You could even have Daniel Danger come to your hometown, make you macaroni and cheese and personally screen the film for you and a group of your friends, with a Q and A session afterward.

Check out the webpage about the film HERE and help them in what is going to be a great film about what we all love.
