Josh Homme What is a Villain Art Print Release

 

Joshua Homme What is a villain to some, a hero to others & don't mean nothin' to one? Didn't hear you mate, I was drifting downstream. Words by Joshua Homme.

 The first official portrait of one of rocks most dynamic, mesmerizing & inventive musicians. During lockdown John Harris of Beyond the Pale asked Josh what he thought of the gallery doing a portrait of him. He was enthusiastic & naturally wanted some input. The design behind his head is " The Helm of Awe" Josh was adamant the Viking symbol be featured on the poster. Aegishjalmr, or the Helm of Awe, is a Viking runic symbol designed to protect warriors in battle, and also give them courage and strength. The symbol can also be used to give a person the fortitude to overcome their fears. Joshua Homme the family name originated in Norway, a country with a long historical connection to Vikings. It's not too hard to imagine Joshua Homme standing tall on the prow of a Viking longship as it sets sail.

Jimi Hendrix Experience Bag O'Nails Club 1967 Poster By Rhys Cooper Release

 

Iconic by Collectionzz commemorates many iconic concerts, but sometimes a particular concert just stands out. This is one of those times and they turned to Rhys Cooper to create an equally epic poster.

When Jimi Hendrix first came to England, the word was out that a phenomenal guitar player from the United States was in town. On January 11, 1967, the newly formed Jimi Hendrix Experience spent a full day of recording 'Purple Haze' and 'The Wind Cries Mary'. Later that day, The Jimi Hendrix Experience performed two shows at the venerable Bag O’Nails, a tiny but influential music business Mecca in London’s Soho.

Hendrix continued to make waves in the local music scene, and whenever possible, a large group of fellow musicians would attend The Experience’s shows. Virtually every major British blues guitarist found themselves at this performance. The Beatles’ Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr were in attendance, as was The Who’s Pete Townshend and John Entwistle, The Rolling Stones’ Bill Wayman, and The Cream’s Eric Clapton.

Out of that seething maelstrom of creativity, heavy blues would be born; and every blues guitarist found themself rethinking their musical direction.

Rhys Cooper Cradle of Blood Posters Release

Rhys Cooper and Rockabilia have a little something special for everyone this Valentines Day. 2021 marks the 30th anniversary of Suffolk, England, symphonic-metal outfit Cradle of Filth, who have made their name over the years with bombastic gothic-horror opuses like 1998's Cruelty and the Beast, a classic concept album about the infamous "blood countess" Elizabeth Báthory.

What they have for us are 4 posters each measuring 12 x 36 inch posters, screen-printed on Curious Metallic paper and pink foil paper and featuring Cruelty and the Beast-inspired artwork by Australian artist Rhys Cooper (Studio Seppuku).
