Chuck Sperry & Chris Shaw Pearl Jam Oslo Poster On Sale

No comments:

Pearl Jam's Ten Club will be selling Chuck Sperry and Chris Shaw's killer poster from the Oslo Norway show today. The poster from the recent European tour measures 22 x 33 with 5 poppin colors of silk screen goodness.

Details from Chuck and Chris Shaw on how they created the poster

I teamed up with Chris Shaw to make Pearl Jam’s Oslo poster. Chris and I have both made Pearl Jam posters in the mid-1990′s. So Oslo’s Pearl Jam poster is a mix of New School and Old School Rock Poster Art.Since the theme of the PJ tour posters are VS, we immediately thought of a Ying-Yang form as a good way to communicate that idea.
Then we thought of that crazy “Norway Spiral” that filled the night sky over Norway a couple years back (because we both love unexplained and mysterious phenomena like that, even if it was probably a Russian rocket spinning out of control).
We gave it a psychedelic edge by making a Ying-Yang out of the form of the Norway Spiral, and creating two flying eyeballs, representing the opposing forces of Fire and Water. We wanted this poster to have a touch of skater punk, Psychedelia, and to just be iconic and bad-ass.

The small, subtle, silver spirals in the background, not only mirrors the Ying-Yang of the central image, but is inspired by Rosemalling, which is a Norwegian folk-art of decorative painting. This form of decoration originated in the rural valleys of Norway during the Baroque and Rococo Period in the mid 18th Century. It was a folk response to the intricate designs the wealthy folks in Norway were importing. The forms are usually simple and based on “C” and “S” forms. That seemed appropriate since Chris Shaw and Chuck Sperry are both “CS” names
They are on sale now at PearlJam.com but you have to be a member of the Ten Cub to purchase one

PEARL JAM Missoula Poster Jeff Ament VS. Ames Bros Release Details with Variants

No comments:

Ames Bros were excited to have Brother Jeff in the shop to help them create this Pearl Jam Missoula poster.

It felt a little bit like the old days... and needless to say they had a blast seeing Jeff's vision through and the creative back and forth that it took to get to the final piece.

Even more exciting, is to do their small part to help out Senator Jon Tester. As some of you may know, Jon is a family friend and from Jeff and Barry's hometown of Big Sandy, MT. Jon was Barry's music teacher and the reason he can, to this day, play "Centerfold" on the trumpet. Jon also was a ref for their high school basketball games and always had a smile on his face and brought a lot of fun to the sport. Politics aside, Jon is a great guy. They are truely proud of what he has accomplished!

Limited quantities of the posters will be for sale around 3pm PDT. All copies are signed and numbered by the artist out of an edition of 215. Only 200 prints available for purchase(we archive 15).  The posters measure 20 x 26 inches

Also available for purchase, a limited quantity of color VARIANTS. Both U of M Griz color combo and Big Sandy Pioneer color combo are both available. Only 10 were available at the show randomly mixed in to the run! Their quantites are very, very limited. Signed by the artist.

Tonight's Pearl Jam Poster from Copenhagen, Denmark by Todd McFarlane and Maxx242

1 comment:

Pearl Jam's European tour comes to a close with easily the most anticipated poster design in a long time. Todd McFarlane has not worked with the group since he directed the animated video for the song "Do the Evolution".  He did a print for the song as well (shown above) but it was not silk screened. Now we see him paired up with Maxx242 in creating his first ever gigposter. And yes it rocks.

Tonight's Pearl Jam Poster from Oslo Norway by Chuck Sperry and Chris Shaw On Sale Details

No comments:

As Pearl Jam's European tour winds down, tonight's poster is done by a couple of old school San Francisco artists Chuck Sperry and Chris Shaw. This collaboration series of posters has been great. Can't wait to see who Todd McFarlane is paired with tomorrow night.

Details from Chuck and Chris Shaw on how they created the poster

I teamed up with Chris Shaw to make Pearl Jam’s Oslo poster. Chris and I have both made Pearl Jam posters in the mid-1990′s. So Oslo’s Pearl Jam poster is a mix of New School and Old School Rock Poster Art.

Chris and Chuck both are releasing their Signed and Numbered, Artist Editions, on ChuckSperry.net.

They’ll making a very limited online release of the Signed and Numbered, Artist Editions of this poster here on Monday, July 16, 2012 at a random time.

Tonight's Pearl Jam poster from Berlin by Sean Cliver and Ed Templeton

1 comment:

Pearl Jam are in Berlin Germany for the first of two shows tonight and the artists for the poster are Sean Cliver and Ed Templeton.

Poster says
"Pearl Jam mit X Berlin Deutschland 4 Juli 2012 in der O2 World Kunst von Sean Cliver und Ed Templeton Zwei-und-dreissig kleine und moeglicherweise tote Maenner haben mein Rektum infiltriert und uebernommen meinem Gehirn mit Unsinn"

Which translates to

"Pearl Jam with X Berlin Germany 4 July 2012 in the O2 World Art by Sean Cliver and Ed Templeton thirty-two little and probably dead men have infiltrated my rectum and have taken over my brain with nonsense"

Flag looks good once again. I must say doing flags for each show was a brilliant idea

Pearl Jam are in Prague tonight and they have gone back to the past to have Ward Sutton create the poster with Ames Bros tonight. MUNK ONE x FRANK KOZIK Pearl Jam VS Series Amsterdam Poster On Sale Today

No comments:

In the world of Rock Poster Art, certain names stand out. So when Mr. Frank Kozik agreed to collaborate with me on the Pearl Jam “VS Series” I knew the outcome was going to melt faces off. The 8 colors on this huge 22.5 x 35″ print are beyond vibrant and the art looks like it’s going to jump off the paper and punch you in the neck. When it was all done Frank and I met up in a shady motel somewhere between SF and LA to get both signatures on all 200 copies of this unearthly beast. I had a great time working with Frank and I am very happy with the way this collaboration tuned out, evenly using elements from both of our styles to create something different that I know true poster fans, both old and new will appreciate as much as I do.

Tonight's Pearl Jam Poster from Amsterdam night 2 by Ames Bros and Wes Humpston

3 comments:

Pearl Jam is at the Ziggo Dome again tonight and Ames Bros and Wes Humpston did the poster. Some of you maybe asking who is Wes Humpston. Wes Humpston was the original artist to draw and design "DogTown Skates" before it was "Dogtown Skates." In the mid 1970's Wes worked at the original Zephyr Surf Shop and he like so many others credit C.R. Stecyk III and Jeff Ho as mentors. Wes went on to co-found DogTown Skates and copyright the name with original Zephyr team rider, Jim "Red Dog" Muir in the late 70's. Wes now operates BullDog Skates AND continues to do original drawings on boards for serious collectors.

On sale at Ames Bros  June 28th at 12 PM(noon) PST.

Isle of Wight Festival Pearl Jam Poster by Rhys Cooper and Ken Taylor On Sale NOW

2 comments:

Wholly cow this is an amazing poster for the Pearl Jam show tomorrow at the Isle Of Wight Festival. Done by the the most amazing artists from Australia Rhys Cooper and Ken Taylor . Those of you going are very lucky.

On sale now at 10 Club for members only  https://pearljam.com/news/0/1/21396/isle_of_wight_poster_on-sale

The reason the Isle of Wight poster is available is due to the fact the island has been hit with roughly 4 inches of rain since Thursday and the bands management did not want people to be bummed out that they would buy the poster and get it damaged in the mud, rain, and wind. The reason they will have to print fresh posters for people is because they are afraid that anything that they end with from the show will be damaged by either mud, rain or just the dampness in the air after sitting out for what will be 4 days during the festival.

There has been so much time and effort put into this special series (They started last December) that they really just want everyone to have the best possible item. I for one applaud them for their efforts

Check out this video from the island
