Matt Leunig has 3 new posters on sale right now.

Surfy-rock band, The Growlers are back on Tour again and ripped up the West Coast this past weekend. Matt was tasked to do a print for their 4-day run at The Independent in San Francisco as well as design for their Brooklyn run later in the month.

Each poster is a 5-color screenprint (18′ x 24′) with a print run of 100 that will be available at the show. His small run of 35 Artist Prints (signed/Numbered) are on sale now with some foil variants.

The past couple years Matt had started to see posters for a band in the jam scene called Twiddle but had never really been exposed to their music. They recently reached out to him to do a print for the first leg of their Fall Tour which comprised of 7 tour stops. Matt finds it always interesting and fun to work a new band for the 1st time and try to figure out their style and how to translate it visually. The posters are 6-color screenprint

Jonathan Burton Rear Window Movie Poster Release

1 comment:

Mad Duck is excited to bring you stunning new licensed posters for Alfred Hitchcock's mystery/thriller masterpiece "Rear Window", with art by the amazing Jonathan Burton! Jonathan had the following to say about the movie and the inspiration for his design:
"Stylistically Rear Window uses Edward Hopper as an inspiration where peering into other people lives, particularly through lit windows before the blinds are pulled down, gives us an insight into a characters loneliness or reveals dysfunctional couples unable to communicate. Voyeuristically we see the neighbourhood through the eyes of Jeff but the film also turns our eyes onto his life and the failing of his relationship with Lisa. I wanted to show that double voyeurism in the poster where we are looking at their flaws as Jeff, being more interested in the goings on of his neighbours, pays little attention to his beautiful and stylish girlfriend who is waiting for him to take notice of her."
"Rear Window" is the second release in an ongoing Hitchcock series with Jonathan Burton. They will offer limited quantity bundles of matching number Vertigo/Rear Window sets. If you previously purchased Vertigo from Mad Duck and would like a matching number with Rear Window, simply let them know.

Shaunna Peterson & Naoshi It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown Prints Release

1 comment:

Dark Hall Mansion is pleased to celebrate the arrival of this year's holidays with the inimitable Charles M. Schulz 1966 masterpiece, "IT'S THE GREAT PUMPKIN, CHARLIE BROWN," and their new officially licensed limited edition prints by artists Shaunna Peterson and NAOSHI.

Dark Hall Mansion, under license from Peanuts Worldwide LLC, will release Shaunna Peterson's beautifully hued candy colored Halloween treat in a piece that echoes Disneyland's legendary Haunted Mansion stretch portraits, a print deliberately structured so the eye begins at the top to coincide with the film's opening then flows left and right capturing the arc of Schulz's unforgettable moments and evoking fond memories that awaken the child in us all. Shaunna's lovely original was hand painted and lovingly captures this timeless classic while paying close attention to the masterful color palette that so informs the original film's aesthetic.

They're also pleased to share artist NAOSHI's slightly kawaii Halloween take on the Schulz classic. The artist utilizes shiny colorful sand, called Sunae in Japan as part of her artistic process in creating an original from which their very select limited edition NAOSHI prints are then produced. Look carefully and you'll not only see the celebration of one quite unforgettable Halloween night but charming touches such as NAOSHI flavored pumpkins that watch over an ever faithful Linus, a rather surreal evening dance between Pigpen and friends, and a very sweet Halloween Snoopy that rains down trick or treat goodies, though good ole' Charlie Brown might still get a rock or two. You might also catch a little '60s throwback Halloween decoration witch flying through NAOSHI's Variant sky colorway edition.

"IT'S THE GREAT PUMPKIN, CHARLIE BROWN" limited edition prints go on sale Wednesday, October 4th, on DHM's dedicated store page at: http://darkhallmansionstore.com at 12:30 PM-PDT!

Kii Arens Beck Berkeley Oakland Poster

No comments:

Kii Arens has a new poster for a couple of Beck concerts. Beck "Toothpaste" - This print got Kii really excited at the first idea of it. Taking a nod from Warhol's Brillo boxes was the main inspiration. Why toothpaste? Because Beck is squeaky clean funk. Like a perfect smile... every song feels just right. Kii loves a poster you can play with. It's really got him thinking how to top it.
