Mondo Black Friday Poster Flat File Sale

Since 2011, Mondo have opened up their poster flat file a couple times a year for a sale featuring a selection of sold-out prints from their archive. This has been something offered exclusively at the gallery space in Austin - until now. This Wednesday, they'll be shutting down their site to prepare for the first online Flat File sale in the company’s history, kicking off at 10AM central time on Friday, November 27th.

Fans can expect over 400 different prints sold at original cost from artists like Aaron Horkey, Tyler Stout, Olly Moss, Daniel Danger, Ken Taylor, Martin Ansin, and many more. With just a few of each poster available, you'll want to be there when the Black Friday countdown clock hits zero.

Gregg Gordon Dead & Company Minneapolis Poster Release

Gregg Gordon of Gigart did the poster for the Dead & Company show on November 21, 2015 in Minnesota at the Target Center.

Since the show was in Minnesota, the poster was roughly based on a vintage travel poster. The idea came from the fact that Minnesota is the Land of 10,000 Lakes. You might even see the state bird, the Great Northern Loon, flying by. What a trip.

James Eads Mandala Prints & More Black Friday Releases

As 2015 is coming to a close, James Eads will be releasing a culmination of new limited edition prints this Black Friday. Trevor Young Across The Great Divide Print

This piece (the first Trevor Young print released by 1xRUN) was part of Lyric 3 at Inner State Gallery, a musically themed group exhibition curated by legendary Detroit artist Glenn Barr. Vania Zouravliov & Nicolas Delort Prints From Black Dragon Press

Black Dragon Press delighted to release the second print in their ongoing project with Russian artist Vania Zouravliov aiming to illustrate the works of Edgar Allan Poe. This second installment sees Vania tackle Poe's tongue in cheek addendum to the legendary Arabian Nights collection of tales in "The One Thousand And Second Tale of Scheherazade".

The main edition sees two stunning colorways from an edition of only 40 each, and the variant editions have been hand-embellished and signed by the artist from an edition of just 5 each. Please note, the prints were premiered at Thought Bubble Festival a couple weeks back so the number available online is much lower.

Black Dragon Press also very excited to be releasing Nicolas Delort's "Shrine of the Mother" as a very limited edition scratchboard laser-etch. From an edition of just 10 (less online) this beautiful piece is etched at the same size as the original and on the same material, meaning this is pretty much the closest you can get to owning a Nicolas Delort original without having to spend a small fortune.

All proceeds from this sale will be donated to the Society of Illustrators Scholarship Fund.

Ben Horton Pearl Jam Rio de Janeiro, Brazil Poster

Tonight Pearl Jam is in the party capital of South America, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The poster for concert is done by another new artist to the Pearl Jam world but one that I really like, Ben Horton.

Pearl Jam John Fellows Belo Horizonte, Brazil Poster

Pearl Jam are in the wilds of the Amazon tonight in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. To be honest I had never heard of the city but it's way north of Rio. For tonight's poster another new artist to Pearl Jam fans has been recruited, John Fellows. For his signature “contemporary folk” style weaves together layers of found paper, graphic block prints and handwritten text to create an old time, hands-on feel. he collects a variety of found paper, maps and books dating from the 1880’s to the present to create unique linoleum carving collages that while at the very base reflect his personal experiences, are more like a brief glimpse into someone else’s story.

Brad Klausen Pearl Jam Milton Keynes Free Friday Poster Giveaway

While I was watching Pearl Jam during the Global Citizen Concert in New York City back in September I was amused at Matt Cameron's facial expressions. As Pearl Jam fans know he makes some funny faces during a show and he seemed to really be into it during this concert.

If you remember back in June Brad Klausen did a scratch & dent mystery tube sale. He randomly threw in one of the Pearl Jam Milton Keyes misprints in the tubes. Since he got about 100 of the the initial run where the type on the back ended up showing through on the front to some degree (looks mostly like subtle gray scuffs) he wanted them in the hands of fans who wanted them. Now this copy I got looks great I cant see anything showing on the front, it is labeled M.P. in the lower left corner and not signed by Brad.

So as I watched Matt tear up the drums a funny idea crossed my mind. Everyone loves Facebook, taking selfies and playing "Air Drums". So for this weeks Free Friday Poster Giveaway for Brad's poster it's all being wrapped up together.

Zeb Love The Avett Brothers Fargo Poster Release

Zeb Love created this wicked good poster for The Avett Brothers show on November 13 in Fargo ND. He's been really enjoying the 'Emotionalism' record as of late. The idea for this poster was inspired from their 'Living of Love' song. Zeb liked the idea of Lucifer feeling nostalgic/day dreaming...looking back in time, before he was cast out of Heaven. There is another line that goes with it 'Love writes a letter and sends it to hate'.. Zeb liked that imagery as well. Love being divine, visiting the wretch.
