von Scaramouche is very happy to be collaborating with Jason Cantoro, a screen printing artist from Montreal who specializes in creating monoprints. His compositions combine drawings, pictures, patterns and old iconic imagery. The particularity of Jason’s work comes from the fact that he uses a reproduction technique in order to make unique pieces. He works with multiple screens in order to create compositions while printing and he adds and subtracts images by controlling the opacity of the layers. The aesthetic of his work is characterized by the transparencies and nuances created by multi-layering. He sees his work as a dynamic and narrative world that evolves in time through personal experiences.
His works have been shown in solo and group exhibitions in Canada and the United States and, starting on Wednesday April 13th, the von Scaramouche online gallery will be offering six of his stunning monoprints.
