The latest in Sally Centigrade's Travel by Screen series, where a poster is made
for a popular area code for each state. This piece inspired by
Washington State / Seattle and it's legendary inhabitants.
Located
in Seattle, Washington, Factory 43 hand-forges quality graphic goods –
including t-shirts, posters, and letterpress cards. Their unique
illustrations mix hand-inked drawings, collaged photographs and found
textures with quirky subject matter. The resulting designs have earned
recognition from Communication Arts and the Society of Illustrators.
Factory 43 is comprised of Andrew Saeger and Veronica Velasco, who met
while working in the art department of the now defunct Seattle
Post-Intelligencer. Their shared passion for design and love of
hand-printed objects combined with the death of journalism led them to
found Factory 43 and eventually purchase their own letterpress.
