HEREDITARY by Randy Ortiz & A GHOST STORY by Sam Wolfe Connelly Posters Release From Mondo

This week Mondo will have a couple of posters for a pair of incredible films from their friends at A24. First up is a new poster for their latest release, HEREDITARY. Not only one of the scariest horror films to come out in some time, this is one of the best films of 2018. Period. They hit up Randy Ortiz to create a poster for the film and the end result is an image worthy of the film’s nightmarish imagery and themes. To say anymore would possibly ruin some surprises, so all they’ll say is they urge you to get to the theater to see this film as soon as you can.

In addition to HEREDITARY, Mondo will also have a poster for A GHOST STORY by Sam Wolfe Connelly. This was a really special film and one of their favorites to come out in 2017. Sam Wolfe Connelly's sullen, moody poster perfectly references the emotional complexity of the film.

Sam Wolfe Connelly Resident Evil Poster Release By Mondo

Mondo will have a brand new poster for one of their favorite survival horror video games, RESIDENT EVIL, by Sam Wolfe Connelly. When they first reached out to Sam for this project, he immediately took to it. His beautiful rendering of the series’ iconic zombie dogs is both grotesque and gorgeous and they couldn’t be more excited about Sam’s work here.

"Before even starting on this poster I knew exactly what I wanted to do for it. I remember playing this game as a kid for the first time at a friend's house with all the lights turned out. One of the first unexpected jump scares is a dog trying to snap at you through the mansion doors when you try to exit. Of course we all screamed like crazy and then tried to play it off like we weren't scared. I think that's a moment a lot of people shared with this game and series."-Sam Wolfe Connelly

Castlevania And Silent Hill Posters Release From Mondo

This past weekend Mondo traveled to Seattle for Emerald City Comicon. This was their first time exhibiting up there and they had an incredible time seeing some new faces. Sam Wolfe Connelly The Thing, The Brood & Scanners Posters Release From Mondo

Mondo will have three incredible posters by Sam Wolfe Connelly on sale Thursday, including THE THING, SCANNERS & THE BROOD! The SCANNERS / THE BROOD artwork was first released as album art for the Cronenberg split LP earlier this year, and it's so cool to see alternate versions of the striking visuals in a poster format.

The Strain & The Birds Posters Release From Mondo

 

Guillermo! He does it again! Based on Guillermo del Toro and Chunk Hogan’s wildly popular book series, THE STRAIN is a re-imagining of the vampire. Gone are all the sophisticated and sexy vampires we’ve come to expect, and replaced by savage and terrifying creatures. THE STRAIN will air on FX network. Oh yeah, if you love gore, this is the goopiest, bloodiest show in forever. Let's just say, you might just lose your head over it? (Don't worry, you'll get it later). The show premieres this Sunday. Phantom City Creative created these posters for the show and they came out great.

 

Mondo also have this great poster for THE BIRDS by Sam Wolfe Connelly available Thursday as well. Here's what Sam had to say about the design.

"I love all of Hitchcock's work and The Birds is definitely up there with some of my favorite movies of all time. With the print I wanted to try and encompass the saturation of fear in the movie, focusing less on the birds themselves and more on the enclosures (or cages if you will) that humans become trapped in. The movie does a great job of reversing the roles between the birds and humans and I felt like that idea played the most into the terror of the flick."

Each piece from this limited edition 1xRUN from Sam Wolfe Connelly will be hand-embellished personally by Sam himself making each unique.

"The original was for a cult movie show back a couple months ago and the original drawing has been sold. It's done in graphite and acrylic. I really wanted to do something referencing A Clockwork Orange but in a little more subtle light. My favorite thing about that movie is the milk bar so I based the drawing after the women mannequins along with the hallucinogenic milk they drink From start to finish this piece probably took around 30+ hours. For this RUN, I will also be hand-embellishing each print individually making each unique." - Sam Wolfe Connelly

Sam Wolfe Connelly "Gaze" Print On Sale Today

Each piece from this limited edition RUN from Sam Wolfe Connelly will be hand-embellished personally with gold flecks by Sam himself making each unique.

"I did the original piece for the recent 'Kingdom Animalia' show, which has already sold. It was done in graphite, chalk and acrylic on BFK Rives paper. The show was based around art focusing on animals and my idea for the piece was to have an animal present and an important part of the image, but not necessarily the center of attention. I really wanted to portray a sense of uneasiness of having a set of eyes on you, or having your eyes on someone else. I felt a cat would be a perfect fit for a haunting gaze. I finished this piece back in June and I would say it took probably around 30-40 hours or so." - Sam Wolfe Connelly
