Widespread Panic Las Vegas Print By Miles Tsang

No comments:

Widespread Panic played 3 nights in Las Vegas and Miles Tsang did one of the posters and yeah he went a little nuts with it. I think Miles was channeling his inner Hunter S Thompson and managed to encapsulate the craziness of Vegas very well.

There are two editions a regular and cool variant.

AP / Regular / Warm Edition. 18" x 24" screenprint. Hand-numbered. AP Edition of 80.

Widespread Panic Morrison Print By Chuck Sperry Release

No comments:

Widespread Panic Summer Solstice last weekend at Red Rocks, was three days of incredible music under the stars. Chuck Sperry did one of the posters for the shows.
Look up! Let me show you my favorite constellation, the Corona Borealis, the crown of stars, the god of wine and song Dionysus set high in the heavens to express his immortal love for the kind beauty Ariadne.

In some tellings of her story, the shining crown was made by the fiery blacksmith Hephaestus — the ever hardworking artist — and given to Ariadne by Venus because she favored her grace and gentle spirit.

Ariadne lent the bright crown of stars and a fine unbreakable thread to clever Theseus to help him escape the labyrinth after slaying the Minotaur and saving the children of Athens — poor imperfect democracy — from the evil beast.

Lot’s of reasons to love the starry Corona Borealis, but mostly because it crowns Widespread Panic for three beautiful nights of friends, family, and the music at Red Rocks. Enjoy! -Chuck Sperry

Widespread Panic Red Rocks, 2018
16 x 35 inch and 5 color screenprint on cream paper
Signed and Numbered Edition of 650

Chuck will be making a very limited release of the Artist Edition and variants of his Widespread Panic Red Rocks poster on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at a random time at https://chucksperry.net/

James Flames Widespread Panic Atlanta Poster Release

No comments:

James Flames had the extreme pleasure of being asked to create the official poster for Widespread Panic's New Year's Eve shows, which took place at the hallowed Fox Theatre in the band's hometown of Atlanta.

With these shows being so special, James wanted to create an epic scene that encompassed all the best parts of what the experience could be.
The scene takes place in a hidden cave, buried deep in the Earth, under Atlanta. A group of explorers have heard tales of the magical music hidden in this cave, and so they’ve descended into the cave from cables up above, so that they could discover all the wonders inside.

What they’ve found is a place that holds the origins to the Fox Theatre --- carved inside the rocks are intricate patterns resembling Alhambra in Spain (which were actually the inspiration for the carvings and decor of the Fox when it was first built in 1929).

And one of the explorers, as he hangs from the cable mid-air, has found “Mighty Mo”, the fabled pipe organ of the Fox Theatre. He reaches over to press one of the keys... and a sound bursts from the pipes alongside the rocks, and seems to start a chain reaction of musical reverberation inside the cave, which manifests as these blue floating orbs. The mountain dogs that the explorers traveled with start howling, singing along with the sound of Mighty Mo.

Down below, the rest of the explorers are making discoveries of their own. The ground is littered with musical instruments -- drums and cymbals, and guitars that are half buried in the ground, as if it’s a ‘guitar garden’.

But most interesting is the series of magical doorways they have found. It’s New Year’s Eve, after all, and these doorways have opened up portals for the explorers to travel between time itself -- literally walking into a doorway on one side of the year, and walking out of another doorway at the other side of the year! JF
Besides the regular edition screenprint, there are also two exclusive Holofoil Variants also available in limited amounts.

Artist's Edition of 65, Signed & Numbered

"Galactic Windows" HoloFoil Variant

Widespread Panic Milwaukee Print Collaboration Matt Leunig Jim Mazza Release

No comments:

This is the third time Matt Leunig has done a Milwaukee tour print for Widespread Panic and its becoming one of their big shows every year, they discussed doing something a little different this time around. Poster artist Jim Mazza is a badass illustrator and Matt has always liked his work for years. THey had been talking about doing a collaboration on a piece for a while and this event seemed the perfect opportunity. As the show was a 3-day event a triptych of posters seemed to be the perfect approach.

With Milwaukee being Brew City they loved the idea of a crazy Alice in Wonderland-themed Roktoberfest with bottle cap mushrooms and flying beer bottles. It truly was a collab with each of them taking elements of each others posters into their own and countlessly sending ideas/sketches back and forth. Matt did the left poster and Jim the right poster then both of them worked on the center one.

The band received a print run of 200 of each poster as well as 200 uncut sheets. Each print is 12′ x 24′, the uncut measuring 36′ x 24.

Jim and Matt have an Artist Edition of 40 sets (20 uncuts) that they split and will be selling at the same time on their individual websites.

Along with the regular edition they will have a small variant run of cut sets/uncuts on different foil papers available,.. including:
– Rainbow Foil (Cut sets – 28/ Uncuts – 20)
– Sparkle Foil (Cut sets – 8/ Uncuts – 8)
– Oil Slick Foil (Cut sets – 18/ Uncuts – 18)
– Lava Foil (Cut sets – 23/ Uncuts – 20)

Jeff Wood Widespread Panic en la Playa Posters Release

No comments:

Panic en la Playa Seis
Jeff Wood has got several versions of this poster set to release. There are uncuts in the flat Eclipse Black paper edition, but none in the Gloss Cadillac Black. The gloss singles will be sold as sets and there are just a handful of the flat Eclipse singles that can be purchased separately. Here's the breakdown of editions:

Available Black Eclipse Editions:
Single 14x24" Eagle AE/25 - $40
Single 14x24" Snake Mandala AE/25 - $40
Uncut 28x24" SN AE/100 - $100

Variant Gloss Cadillac Black Editions:
Matching Number Sets - $100

As often is the case, these digital files do not do the prints justice. The gold layer is metallic and the little details make them pop in person. The Cadillac Black is a deeper, shinier black that the flat Black Eclipse, but both prints are lovely.

They'll also be adding new mini prints to the web store as well on Thursday. One is a mini of the Mayan Snake Mandala from the PelP Seis prints and the other two are similar in nature... the top is an SG Guitar Flower mandala Jeff created while listening to some Tedeschi Trucks Band and the 2nd one is titled Snake in the Pepper Patch.

There are also 2 different papers for these 8x8" set of mini Mandala prints. There are only 100 pieces of the Cadillac Black Gloss paper... all of these will be sold as sets.

There is a large number of the mini prints on the Eclipse Black paper, but only 100 of those will be S/N and sold. The rest will remain unsigned and unnumbered and likely be used as freebies in some packages.

SN/100 Sets on Black Eclipse paper @ $40
SN/100 Variant Edition on the Gloss Cadillac Black @ $50

All new prints in this email will be added to the Zen Dragon web site Thursday, March 9 @ 3pm EST which is located https://zendragongallery.com/

Brad Klausen Widespread Panic Milwaukee Posters Release

No comments:

Widespread Panic just finished playing 3 nights in Milwaukee, WI and these are the 3 posters Brad Klausen designed for each of the 3 shows.

Brad was told the WSP fans refer to the Milwaukee shows as "Milwookie" and Robert, the man who handles the band's merchandise, suggested the idea that since Brad lives in the Pacific Northwest, land of the Sasquatch, what if Brad made a triptych telling of a Sasquatch / wookie migrating from out of the woods of the PNW on his way to Milwaukee to the shows. And this is the result of running with that idea of Robert's. Brad is pretty stoked on how it turned out.

Brad will be selling 100 signed and numbered uncut sheets of all 3 nights, October, 21st, 22nd and 23rd. The poster is printed on black paper.

Poster is 36" x 24", 5 Colors (black paper - uncut sheet)
signed and numbered out of 100

Matt Leunig Widespread Panic Washington DC Poster Release

No comments:

Widespread Panic kicked off their fall tour this week starting at the Warner Theater for 2-days of shows in Washington DC. Matt Leunig did the poster and he lived in Washington DC for a bit and for an artist the area has such a rich culture of imagery and history that you can pull from and was happy to get the call for these concerts.

Matt on the design:
"From my front door I could see the Capitol Building daily and have always wanted to work it into a poster one way or another. I thought the concept of a birdcage in the shape of the Capitol with a woman swinging inside it would be interesting as would somehow incorporating DC’s state flower, American Beauty Rose & state bird, the Wood Thrush. Eventually the kind of generic old-timey woman in the cage took on the form of the actual statue adorning the top of the Capitol, the Freedom Statue which itself has a very interesting history & symbolism."
This 6-color poster is 18′ x 24 with a print run of 350 and Matt has a small run of Signed/Numbered Artist Prints (signed/AP) available at http://scrapedknee.com/
