Brian Ewing Mastodon Columbus Poster Release

Brian Ewing did the poster for the Mastodon concert where he lives in Columbus, Ohio.

Says Brian :

I'm excited to FINALLY show off the poster I was commissioned to design for MASTODON! "Crack The Skye" was always one of my favorite albums by the band. I was fortunate enough to see them back when I lived in NYC. My buddy Josh Bernstein took me to see them when they were on tour with Dethklok back in 2009! And my beard stylist - Bethany, always had photos of her and Brent Hinds in her station and would tell me stories about the band. It just made me love the band even more. I had ALWAYS wanted to work with them but it just seemed like I was never in the right place...until Kyler Sharp and Lady Lazarus were curating this tour - "UNHEAVENLY SKYE". THANKS to those guys for sharing the chance to work with the band!!!

I sent in the idea of a dead astronaut. Something I had been wanting to draw if not just for the Wally Wood piping on the suit. Kyler and Isaac were stoked because it fit perfectly for the band's song "Oblivion". I worked on this in the mornings before and every night after - Sonic Temple. The Deadline was crazy - but most deadlines are.

Isaac at Lady Lazarus did me a solid and sepped this out from 18 colors to 10 colors! 10 colors! It looks so fancy! Most of my work is 3-5 colors. So my brain exploded after seeing the final print. I wish I could work in this many colors all of the time. Plus it's bigger than I usually work!

AngryBlue Mastodon Sterling Heights Poster

Angryblue did the poster for the recent concert in Michigan. Posters measure 21" x 33" each and are 6-color screen prints for Mastodon's current string of shows celebrating their Crack the Skye album.

Brad Klausen Eddie Vedder & Phish Posters Release

Big week for Brad Klausen as he is covering the globe with his work.

First stop Amsterdam as he did the poster for the first night of Eddie Vedder's solo tour. Artist edition is signed and numbered out of 100.

Next we head over to the mid-west and home of the Stanley Cup champions St Louis. Phish played 2 nights in St Louis and Brad did 2 colorways of the poster. Each color will be signed and numbered out of 50 artist copies.

Matt Leunig Dead & Company Los Angeles Poster

Dead and Company are ramping up their Summer Tour right now and Matt Leunig was lucky enough to be asked to do one of their 1st stops at the iconic Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

The venue itself, The Hollywood Bowl, is a beautiful outdoor venue that has a very recognizable shape to it. Early on Matt knew he wanted to try and work this into the design somehow and applying it to the “Steal Your Face” logo was a perfect fit. The trick was finding a balance of adding other Dead and Los Angeles-related imagery and not overwhelming the piece. A couple different layouts and color schemes were tried… including adding and removing eyeballs & mushrooms.

This print is a 6-color screenprint (18″ x 24″) and it is an Artist Edition (signed/AP) run of 150.
