AngryBlue Roger Waters AUS/NZ & Archimedes Prints Release

No comments:

AngryBlue has released several new prints including one for Roger Waters.

First up is: Archimedes.Angryblue felt it was fun to come back to this older illustration and reinterpret it for a regular sized frame. The original was a very large print and he was very proud of, but thought it was time to freshen it up and put it in a new context.

This feathery friend is 18x24, 2 colors and limited to a signed/numbered run of 100.

Angryblue used the final variant of the North American tour to produce and ship some prints over for this small leg of the tour so those in the upside-down would have an opportunity to get their mitts of this trippy blacklight-responsive colorway!

Roger Waters Tour Poster Green Variant by AngryBlue Release

No comments:

Angryblue has a sick looking variant of his recent Roger Waters poster.
I thought a little nod to playing Dark Side while watching Oz was fun - it also parallels some political allegory of the tour as well.

Roger Waters Us Them Tour Poster By AngryBlue Release

No comments:

It's not often we get a poster for Roger Waters let alone a tour and now we got both. Angryblue was asked to do the tour poster for the 2017 Roger Waters tour. It's a beautiful show and if you get the opportunity to check out one of the dates, treat yourself to an evening of a wonderful audio and visual experience. According to Justin it might be the best concert he's attended. Be sure to check out the new album also it's really good.

Justin talks about the design:
Having free reign has been something that's slowly being taken from artists in this poster world for some reason. Naturally, I had to get a final sign-off as it's merchandise for the tour, but I didn't feel like I had anyone lording over my shoulders.

The only direction I was given was to keep with the tour through line of referencing the 'Animals' cover. So, I started with Battersea Power Station and thought a giant snarling pig lording over the edge would be a fun dynamic take. After that, I started peppering in some references to other albums that would have selections played from throughout the show.
This print run is the same as the ones on tour with the exception that his artist copies are printed on a natural/cream paper vs white paper on tour.

The posters are 18x24 screen prints signed/numbered run of 100 on a natural/cream paper at $75.

The artist proofs will be available June 23 Friday 12pm EDT at https://angryblue.com/

Assassin's Creed & Soundgarden Posters by AngryBlue Release Details

No comments:

Assassin's Creed
Inspired by Ubisoft's "Assassin's Creed Unity", New Science produced an animated short film which debuted at Comic-Con 2014 before a sold-out crowd. Set in the French Revolution, the story was reimagined by musician / director Rob Zombie and featured the illustrative works of Tony Moore, co-creator of The Walking Dead. "Finishing work by Angryblue" isn't really descriptive. He inked all of this stuff. Together, they crafted a film which highlights the chaos and brutality of the French Revolution, painting the streets of Paris red with blood.

500 limited edition silk-screened posters that were distributed at the "Assassin's Creed Unity Experience" outdoor obstacle course at Comic-Con. The poster features Unity's hero "Arno" in front of a stained-glass window peppered with images from the animated short. Each poster was numbered and signed by the artists.

The print is limited to a run of 775 total. 500 were given away at San Diego Comic Con 2014 to the first people to arrive at the Assassin's Creed obstacle course in front of the Convention Center. Tony and Angryblue each have 100 prints to share with you. EDIT: Angryblue will gave 60 of the 100 available. FedEx damaged his prints in-transit, nice job donkeys. He might do some sketches on some of these in the future.

These 18x24 3-color posters are signed by BOTH artists and have a clear gloss hit that lays on top of the black and metallic red wrapped up in a white paper.

Angryblue also did the Soundgarden Wheatland Poster from last night and will have those one sale well.

He will also have a couple of new prints on sale as well.

Primus 2014 Spring Tour Poster Series Artist Line Up

1 comment:

Details from Zoltron on the new Primus Poster Series he has put together.

I remember it as if it were a meal ago…. And here we are once again, on the eve of another glorious Primus tour.

As has become customary for such an outing, I rattled some creative cages and knocked down some fancypants artdoors® and after lots of bartering, badgering and general pandering, I convinced a number of heavy-hitting artists to each design a commemorative, limited edition silkscreen poster for one of the stops along the tour.

Each performance, excluding the festivals, will have 100 (and occasionally more) hand printed posters available for purchase from the merch booth. Like every show in the past, we expect the posters to sell out quickly. Remember.. The early worm gets eaten by the bird. (And yes, poster tubes will be supplied.)

The individual posters will be unveiled the night of each show, at the gig, on the Primus facebook page and here, at Zoltron.com.

Such a multitude of masculinity (and some very welcome femininity) could only be found in one place... So in Alphabetical Order, Here are The Artists involved in the Spring 2014 Poster Series.
