David Welker's "Subconscious Narrative" Gallery Show Print Release

We are a little more then a week away from David Welker's upcoming solo exhibit, "Subconscious Narrative", at the Hoerle-Guggenheim Gallery in New York City. If you are anywhere near New York I hope you are going.

The team there has seen what he has been working on and all they can say is that anyone attending is in for a treat. There will be a wide range of work including paintings, sketches and prints.

Here is what David had to say about the show:
With “Subconscious Narratives” I depict a thought before it becomes a word, concept, story or tangible form. These studies are not isolated to one brief instant but instead capture the turmoil of forms transitioning in the mind from moment to moment.
By getting in tune with my minds eye I have noticed that the periphery of each thought has edges fading into others. My imagination hovers in a space devoid of temporal constraints or physical permanence. This is the conceptual DNA of “Subconscious Narratives” -- an exploration of the cloudy impressions leading up to and receding from a fabricated instance. While the center of the pieces may be a conceptual focus, the edges form building blocks for dreams not yet depicted. The subconscious narrative barely holds onto the present while the past and future drive into being. Its beginning is another’s middle and end.
Here are the first 3 prints in the show.

Letters On Vacation
"This is the first print made exclusively for the Hoerle-Guggenheim show. In stark contrast to the paintings which are rather monochromatic this is an insanely colorful screen print."
It's 24x18" in an edition of 100 signed and numbered prints. It will be available for $120

Desert Grrrl
"Desert Grrrl is the second print made exclusively for Hoerle-Guggenheim. This is my artist comp, but the final print is on mirror foil. We just don't have a picture of it yet. I promise you she will melt your face." 12x20" in an edition of 70 and she will be available for $150

Burden of Knowledge
"I decided to reprise this image with a new version. Lets call it a late variant, by popular demand. I hope you enjoy it. "
It's an 18x24" screen print on heavy French Paper in an edition of 100 prints. It will be available for $100.

There will be over 70 pieces at the gallery along with several screen prints. For now David thought that he would offer 3 screen prints in a pre-sale Thursday November 12th at 12 Noon EST via
