Malleus Faith No More Denver Poster & Giada Print Release

 

Back in September 2015, Malleus did a poster for Faith No More's show at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Denver, USA.  Originally on sale at the show they worked on different runs and variants. They’ve been holding some AP copies and now Malleus are happy to tell you they’ve also handprinted two Art prints at Malleus studio, with their inks and papers.
 

Named "Giada", the first run of 40 pieces is printed on Italian cream paper and and the second run of only 25 pieces on gold sparkling paper.
Both are 6 colors hand printed silkscreens.

Ross Sewage Faith No More Bratislava Slovakia Poster

If you live in or near Bratislava Slovakia, Faith No More are playing there tonight at the Aegon Arena and Ross Sewage did the poster for the show, yes he is a real person.

There is the regular edition of 115 for the show tonight and a rainbow foil variant that will be on sale with the regular one on June 11 at 9am PDT at www.SecretSerpents.com

David Welker Faith No More Krakow Poland Poster World Premiere Exclusive

David Welker is the artist for tonight's Faith No More poster as they are in Krakow Poland at the Tauron Arena. This is the first time David has done a poster for the group.

I asked him about the insane design he created:

Well Poland is so devoutly Catholic and the name "Faith No More" is so powerful and contrary to that. I thought it would be sort of fitting to play the name of that band against the massive institution of Polish Catholicism. Krakow itself is a bastion of the Catholic Church with many old cathedrals having survived WWII intact. So the main character is this sexy Polish nether-worldly Goddess who is clearly not a traditional Catholic girl.

There will be 115 posters for sale at the show. Plus there is a red variant.
Artist edition posters will be available from Secret Serpents at 9:00 AM PDT on Thursday June 11.

Jeff LaChance Faith No More Philadelphia Poster World Premiere Exclusive

The last stop on Faith No More's east coast tour finds the band in Philadelphia at the Electric Company tonight. The band takes a two week break and then heads over to Europe for month. They will then start another US tour leg in Austin on July 26.

Jeff LaChance did the poster for the show tonight and I asked him about the design:

My only real thought for this poster was to stay away from anything with a "religious theme" . Because I had gone that route with my first FNM poster (Second Coming Tour 2009).

People have asked me what the connection between the Planet of the Apes and Faith No More is. Well, each ape represents each different phase of FNM's career. The Beatles / Sgt Peppers tie in alludes to the...OK...that's bulls#It...

...I'd like to sit here and pretend I'm some "deep, intellectual artist"...but I'm not. There aren't many serious references or "hidden messages" about the illuminati in my work (yet, anyway).

I draw what I like, I like Faith No More and the classic Planet of the Apes movies. Then I tried to make it look cool.

Faith No More Tara McPherson New York Poster Night 2 World Premiere Exclusive

New York city is getting ready for a second night of Faith No More and Tara McPherson did the poster for tonight's show once again. She said she had a lot of fun last night and looks forward to another get show tonight.

I asked Tara about the design of the poster:

i really love FNM. The show last night was SO awesome and I'm stoked to see them again tonight. The drawings for these are part of a series of images i’m working with that expand on aurora’s, energy, electromagnetism, bioluminescence, internal vs. external, science, and nature to create portraits of these powerful females I imagine exist in these alternate realms. When I was creating this I was thinking about particle physics and string theory, how these tiny subatomic particles are theorized to dance and not truly exist in one location. As well as the power we have with our thoughts and vision, I think it’s a fun idea to create a physical manifestation of thought… literally something coming out of one’s body, head or eyes. I’m trying to create women who are the goddess' of sorts for this idea. One can read a lot into this imagery in relation to the name ‘Faith No More’… I’m sure different people will see different things, and that’s awesome.

Tara McPherson Faith No More New York Poster Night 1 World Premiere Exclusive

They guys from Faith No More are in New York city tonight for the first of two shows at Webster Hall. New York native Tara McPherson did the poster for tonight and I heard she is checking out the show as well.

Faith No More Zombie Yeti Toronto Poster World Premiere Exclusive

Into the great white north they travel, Faith No More is only playing Canada one time on this east coast tour. But they will be back in August.

For the show tonight in Toronto we get the other part of Zombie Yeti's diptych set of posters that completes the Chicago one. Check out Chicago HERE

Jeremy was at the Chicago show and had so much fun he cracked a tooth. But he got to meet one Aaron Horkey and he was pretty happy after that.

I asked Jeremy about this one:

The story on Toronto's show? Well i was asked to do it after I had almost finished the inks for the Chicago show. I had two possible ideas, one involving a roided up coppertone dog revealing himself out of the boys ass and attacking the pedo-preist, and the one I ended up doing... I played it safe.

It's the happy ending. The boy (band) refuses his(their) perpetual fate(whoring by committee/label) - and he (they)comes out swinging.... I mean - if I was some highbrow arty type with a healthy dose of self-awareness of pretension, that would be the story....

...as is, really, I just wanted to do something to allow people to proudly display the Chicago poster. It's like an evil marketing ploy, right? I mean, unless glorifying sexual predator/pedophilia (that's now a google result for your site, you know. You are welcome!) art is your scene, it's not a light subject and difficult to explain to the inlaws. But with this poster you can have a clear conscious. PURE. EVIL. MARKETING...

...I just wanted to knock out a rad diptych for Faith No More. That is literally a once in a lifetime thing for like 50 people in their lifetime. Damn, I'm going to go buy some lottery tickets...
