Red Hot Chili Peppers, Starfucker and Aerosmith Posters by Clint Wilson

No comments:
Clint Wilson has been printing out of the Nakatomi print shop for years now, in the off hours after they go home,  and Tim Doyle honestly has no idea what he gets up to while he’s there.  He comes in and disappears without a trace, like an art ninja.  But he leaves behind awesome screen prints…so it’s more like a ninja-Santa thing. Hmmm. ANYWAY-
Now…we have photographic evidence.  Clint just made this incredible process video showing the creation of his most recent gigposter for the band STARFUCKER.  The video has everything from the initial sketches all the way through to the final signing and numbering- you get to see every aspect of the operations of the Nakatomi print-shop  in Austin!

And, after you’ve watched that, pick up the poster in question, and a few others (pictured below) in the CLINT WILSON section of the Nakatomi store!

 Starfucker- 18×24 edition of 100

Red Hot Chili Peppers- 18×24 edition of 100.

 Aerosmith- 18×24, edition of 50

Clint Wilson’s Coldplay Poster PROCESS VIDEO and…Van Halen Houston Poster

No comments:

Artists Clint Wilson and Tessa Morrison created this awesome COLDPLAY print, commissioned by the Toyota Center in Houston, at the Nakatomi Print labs!  First, Clint and Tessa assembled a Glass Tile Mosaic, photographed it, and printed it as a 3 color hand-pulled silk-screen poster! They made this awesome little video to show the process- about 4 minutes through they start printing, and you can see the inner workings of the Nakatomi Print Labs!

The poster measures 18×24, and is signed and numbered by the artists in an edition of 125, with only 50 available for sale!

Clint was also commissioned by the Toyota Center to produce this print for the VAN HALEN show there!

This poster is 18×24 and is signed and numbered by Clint in an edition of 100, with only 40 available. (The rest went to the venue and the band).
These prints are in hand for immediate shipment, and can be found RIGHT HERE in the CLINT WILSON section of the Nakatomi store!

Radiohead and Starfucker prints by CLINT WILSON on sale

No comments:

Clint Wilson has a couple of new prints for recent concert gigs! This beautiful RADIOHEAD poster for the show at the Toyota center earlier this month in Houston is pictured above!

Measuring 18×24 and featuring metallic inks, this print was hand-printed by Clint in a tiny edition of 100, and only has 10 available for sale! Signed and numbered by Clint.

The poster for STARFUCKER was for their show back on Jan 14th and measures 18×24, and was printed in an edition of 50, and again- Nakatomi only has 10 for sale!

This same image is in the slightly more family friendly ARTPRINT version w/out the band info on it, also available now.

Like almost ALL of the Nakatomi releases, they try not to list something on sale unless it’s IN HAND and ready for immediate shipment. No waiting for a print-shop to catch up with your weeks-old order- they have our own dang print-shop! Pretty neat, huh? And in the case of Clint- he’s printing his OWN work!

You can pick these all up right now at the TOP of the CLINT WILSON section of the Nakatomi store HERE.

Clint Wilson's CraZy and MYSTERIOUS TUBE Sale

No comments:

Clint Wilson is having his yearly tube sale, and THIS time around, he’s bringing the HEAT!

Not only is Clint practically giving away prints at $50 for a tube of 5 prints, but EVERY tube sold will have one amazing print from his personal collection!

What’s IN SAID COLLECTION, you ask?

Clint has been working in print shops off and on for years now, and back before he helped start the Nakatomi Print Lab, he worked at the local shop- Obsolete printing. AND, while there, he managed to amass quite the collection of oddities, rarities, and things like printer’s proofs and test sheets! Not to mention his straight up personal collection he’s throwing in! Back in ’08, Obey/Giant sent a big-ass stack of these HOPE prints to Obsolete to paste up around Austin, and as a thank-you to the staff, the story goes, Shepard allowed the people to keep a couple each for themselves!

I asked Clint to give us a quickie run down of what artists’ prints he had off the top of his head, and this is what he came back with-

A couple different Fairey pieces, including the HOPE print, Some Aaron Horkey prints, Brad Klausen Tron Alamo poster, Olly Moss test sheets, some Jad Fair, Luke Cheuh, Daniel Johnston, several David Flores, Evan B. Harris, Buff Monster, Dalek, Jay Ryan, Kevin Tong, Jon Smith, Dan Grzeca, Anville’s Delorean on Foil, Dave Kinsey, some different Jermaine Rogers prints, Michael Sieben, 2 Cent, etc…

Keep in mind, this is just the TOP of the stack. He’s got 250 of these to give away, and one is going in EVERY tube ordered through this tube sale!

Nakatomi will have 250 tubes. Each tube will contain 5 posters total. One of them will be from the ‘special’ stack of awesome. The other 4 will be prints by Clint, from way back when he first started printing to whatever he did last year!

ON SALE INFO-

These will go up between NOON and 12:30 CST on the Nakatomi site in the CLINT WILSON section of the store today, Tuesday the 24th. Nakatomi will post a direct link when it goes live, but the fastest way to find out is to follow them on TWITTER.

Clint Wilson Mystery Tube Sale PLUS- Tim Doyles Transformers prints in each tube!

No comments:

Clint Wilson has moved into a new apartment, and he’s got TOO MANY POSTERS! So, to prevent him from having to build his new entertainment center out of posters, Nakatomi is having a tube sale to help him clear out some space!

And, to make it extra special, wthey’re throwing in a copy of Tim Doyle’s Transformers: The Movie screenprint in each tube ordered, regular or variant! (It’s random…like a MYSTERY or something!)

These prints are all slightly mis-printed, mainly with just little ink-drops in the border. They ended up with right over 50 of these that are PRETTY MUCH perfect except for little smudgies in the corners.

Some of them have smudgies, and others HAD smudgies on the top white border so they chopped the top white area off, but not into the image area. They’re are all signed, and once framed, you won’t see any difference. Nakatomi will not have any copies of this print for sale at a later date, so this might be your last chance to pick one up at a reasonable price. (Seriously, have you seen what people are paying for them on eBay? Crazy.)

Clint comes to Nakatomi and says- “I’d like to do a tube sale!” And they said, “We’ve got these Transformers posters that are great but not sale-able at full price!” It’s a match made in heaven.

5 prints per tube. 4 completely perfect Clint Wilson prints. One of them is going to be the Transformers print, regular or variant. $50 a tube. Only 50 tubes available.

Come get ‘em HERE.

PangeaSeed Presents: Sink or Swim Tokyo Preview

No comments:

Clint Wilson was kind enough to send over information on this great cause along with some of the art work for this year.

In the spirit of ocean conservation the Japan-based non-profit organization, PangeaSeed, is ramping up for it’s third annual art exhibition tailored to address one the biggest threats facing the health of world’s oceans today – the rapid mass depletion of sharks.

With each minute that passes close to 200 sharks are killed, adding up to an astonishing 80 million deaths each year. The majority of these sharks are killed only for their fins to satisfy an unsustainable appetite for shark fin soup in Asia and other parts of the world. In the cruel practice known as “finning,” the shark is hooked and brought aboard the boat where its fins are then cut off and the still alive but limbless animal is tossed back into the sea to drown.
