1xRUN 20+ New Blotter Editions For Bicycle Day Brandon Boyd Ben Frost Luke Chueh & More

1 comment:

To ring in Bicycle Day 2018, Detroit based fine art publisher 1xRUN is excited to announce over a dozen new blotter releases from Ben Frost, Brandon Boyd, Denial, Glenn Barr, Leni Sinclair, Luke Chueh, Mike Giant, Niagara, Ricky Powell, Tavar Zawacki aka Above. As well as welcome in photographer Roger Steffens/The Family Acid who joins them for his debut RUN featuring 4 iconic images throughout his storied career, including a shot of infamous Merry Prankster and LSD icon Ken Kesey! To help us bring it all together once again they’ve partnered up with Ken’s son, Zane Kesey out in Oregon to help with all the printing for this year’s print releases.

Brandon Boyd brings 4 new kaleidoscopic remixes of some of his classic works, with his signature style flipped, turned, mirrored and hypnotizingly intertwined on new editions of Baelyn As A Conduit, Five Modes Of Transport, Paige In Blue, and Two Muses.

Ben Frost joins us with a mix of new and old, featuring his Warhol-style variants for Wallflower, as well as some past favorites of WWIII… and Employee Of The Month both remixed for these unique blotter sheets.

Bringing along two of his LSD-laced favorites of his own is California artist Luke Chueh who’s melty Pink Eyes and Hoodie are sure to be fan favorites. Chueh also sheds some light on the fact that his signature "bear" character owes a great debt to the psychedelic birth of Luke Bear...

They all go on sale Thursday, April 19th at 12PM EDT at www.1xrun.com click the link to see all the pictures and to learn more.

Denial Super Saver! 2 Print Release

No comments:

Canadian artist Denial has a new release with 1xRUN on Monday, titled Super Saver 2.

"I originally painted a version of this in Wynwood at Art Basel this year (2015). Like a lot of working artists I put the entire trip on my credit card and had to deal with it after I got the "bill." It's basically a statement on living day to day and trying to figure it all out. Like how to make art and travel and live with some balance to it all.

I have an affinity, as many people do to super heroes. I really think they are a beautiful sentiment to a very messed up world/existence." - Denial

The print is 22 x 28 Inches Hand-Embellished 6-Color Screen Print on 350gsm Cotton Fine Art Paper with a signed & numbered edition of 40

On sale Monday at NOON EDT at 1xRUN.com

Denial None Dollar Hand Painted Multiples Release Details

No comments:

Canadian artist Denial is back with a new release today from 1xRUN, None Dollar is Hand Painted Multiple done with spray paint on a cradled wood box that is ready to hang.

"I have been playing with stencils of money for the last 4-5 years and I thought it would be interesting to play with the actual shape of the money as well as subvert the literal content. This piece consists of 13 stencils spray painted on wood panel. Each has a unique background and slight variations to it. These pieces have also been distressed by hand and coated with a urethane finish.

I really believe along with a lot of other people that the treasury is corrupt and it's a rigged game that people can't win........I could go on and on about this, but basically I want to show money in a different shape to present the idea of alternative forms of capitalism."- Denial

On sale at NOON EST Tuesday at 1xRUN.com

Denial Walmartyr Print Release

1 comment:

1xRUN welcome back Canadian street artist Denial as he returns for his 13th RUN! With his latest 3-colorway hand-embellished prints, Denial takes another stab at mega store Walmart.

"I kind of have a few issues with Walmart. I hate Walmart. I wanted to do a painting that expressed an open ended statement about the company. Almost as it is a worldwide religion. Also you aren’t sure if the characters in the painting are protesting or celebrating Walmart.

The original piece was part of a show I did in Toronto, Canada called “Cut and Paste”. It was done in 2012 using 25 stencils and spray paint on wood. For the print versions here we have 3 colorways available, also each print is hand embellished with spray paint drips. This provides an interesting effect as some of the drips are in the print digitally and some are real. Looks sweet!" - Denial

Each Walmartyr is 17 x 24 Inches Hand-Embellished Archival Pigment Prints On 300gsm Fine Art Paper

Denial Studio Exclusives only from 1xRUN

No comments:

1xRUN welcome back Denial as he returns for his 13th RUN. Previously Denial was joined Australian counterpart and recent partner in crime Ben Frost on their debut Denialex-PM . This time Denial returns solo with an exclusive look into his personal archives of original artwork and much more...

DENIAL, or “D3N!@L” is a Canadian graffiti and mixed-media artist. His moniker is a phonetic mix-up representing his first name, and by definition, pokes fun at modern advertising, politics, and media messages that society is often “in denial” about. DENIAL is known for his prolific guerrilla-marketing campaign, which takes public aim at ideas involving social-justice, pop-culture, mass-media, and “New World Order” conspiracy theories.

Denial Super Saver Print On Sale Today

No comments:

1xRUN welcome back Canadian street artist Denial as he returns for his 12th RUN, last time around Denial was joined Australian counterpart and recent partner in crime Ben Frost on their debut Denialex-PM . For this time Denial again returns solo with his latest print Super Saver!

You have three options today, the print, a hand embellished print or the original painting.

"This painting was created with spray paint on wood through multiple stencils along with several aspects that are hand painted as well. This piece was painted for a show I did in Toronto, Canada in 2012 at Don’t Tell Mama Gallery. The show was called “This Is Not The Art You Are Looking For” A lot of my work for that particular show was exploring the state of the economy. Almost as if the economy was this tangible thing. I love comics and super heroes so I thought this to be a beautiful dichotomy. A “hard on his luck” super hero has no work, so he must go to work at Walmart. The initial drawing and design took about a week. To paint it took another week." - Denial

Super Saver is a 18 x 24 Inches Archival Pigment Print on 330gsm Fine Art Paper.

The regular print has a signed and numbered edition of 55. There will only by 15 hand embellished prints.

Ben Frost x Denial Denialex-PM Prints On Sale Today

No comments:

1xRUN welcome back Canadian street artist Denial as he returns for his 11th RUN, this time around however, he is joined my his Australian counterpart and recent partner in crime Ben Frost on their latest pharmaceutical parody with Denialex-PM .

"This collaborative piece was created over a couple of days in November 2012 while Ben was visiting my studio in Windsor. Ben has recently been painting onto found pharmaceutical packaging and I have created fake packaging and products in my own work, and so we thought it would be a perfect marriage of our styles. I created the initial concept behind the 'product', a fake mind suppressant drug DENIALEX and we both worked on the composition, layout and details of the 'packaging'. The background of the original piece is all spray paint on wood that I cut and applied using about 12 stencils. Ben then hand painted the crying girl in the foreground. The original sold the day after we finished it to a collector in Vancouver, Canada." - Denial

"Suffice to say, if you look closely at the text on the packaging, there are a number of funny subversion's that we included that you wouldn't ever see on pharmaceutical packaging." - Ben Frost

Denialex-PM is a 16 x 24 Inches Archival Pigment Print on 330gsm Fine Art Paper with a signed and numbered edition of 65

There is also the option to get one that is hand embellished as well, there will only be 10 of those for sale.

I think it worked out well.I like to play with juxtaposition and contrast. I love the look of a beautiful refined rose over top a mess of a background with scratches and splatters. The contrast kind of forces the rose out of the painting, almost hovering." - Denial

Each 12 x 24 x 2 inch wood cradled frame comes ready to hang.

Each hand-painted multiple comes with a FREE Rise T Shirt and a Denial Sticker Pack.

Denial I Was Here HPM Hand Painted Multiples on sale details

No comments:

"This piece explores the longevity that graffiti is normally susceptible to. The buff, white washing or the grey is a street artists worst enemy. Many mornings I have gone out to look at a piece in public I did the night before to see nothing but fresh paint over it. This piece entitled "I was here" pays tribute to those lost nights and depressing mornings" - Denial

Canadian graffiti artist Denial's first solo gallery show with pictures

1 comment:

323 East Gallery in Royal Oak Michigan hosted the opening of Canadian artist Denial's first US solo show last night and the ITRPF Street Team was there. Matt Eaton (brother of Tristan Eaton) and Glenn Barr were just some of the artists that stopped by to check out the work. Denial also sent over some lovely Canadian ladies to entertain the guests as well. Denial could not be there due to past issues with the police and graffiti but was watching through a camera as the crowds checked out and bought his work.

His work is a combination of mixed media and original graffiti design created to lash out at the stale decadence of mass advertising, politics and media entities. I think he achieved his goal in stunning fashion.

323 East will have the remaining pieces on sale Monday on their website and the show runs through November 9 if you are in the area and want to check it out.
