PangeaSeed Foundation is pleased to announce the latest print release in their 2020 print project, "In Peril: A Visual Story of Our Ocean's Greatest Challenges". Featuring original artwork by supporting ARTivist Kilian Eng (Sweden), this limited art print edition highlights the importance of protecting vulnerable marine bio-diversities such as coral reef ecosystems and the pressing impact of coastal development.

Artist statement:
"Coral reefs have many important functions. For example, they provide shelter for a huge variety of underwater organisms. Many species of fish live there in their early life before swimming out to the open sea. It is a great example of the natural beauty and magic of our oceans. A beauty that is losing its lifeforce and turning into a colorless underwater wasteland devoid of all life due to human impact.

My starting point for this project was the impact of coastal development and the negative and deadly effects it has on the ecosystems close to the shore. 40% of the world's population lives close to the coast, something that causes numerous threats to corals through the ever growing development of human infrastructure and the threat from global warming." - Kilian Eng

Kilian Eng Forest Harbour Art Print Release

Kilian Eng And Jay Shaw Posters Release From Mondo

HIGH-RISE is the latest masterpiece from one of Mondo's favorite filmmakers, Ben Wheatley. The film, based on the J.G. Ballard novel of the same name, tells the story of Robert Laing and his ascension through the brutal social ranks of a residential tower block in 1970s England. While the film was in pre-production, Mr. Wheatley asked Jay Shaw to create a conceptual image to represent the overarching narrative. The building is presented with the entrance on the top floors. You’re either born up there or you don’t get in at all.

Kilian Eng’s poster for SILENT RUNNING typifies everything Mondo love about his work. It’s an absolute feast for the eyes but retains a serene atmospheric quality. Bruce Dern’s communion with his robotic compatriots in the center of the derelict space-greenhouse is the perfect visual summation of the film’s themes.

Kilian Eng Space is the Place Sun Ra Poster Release

Black Dragon Press are very  excited to announce the release of Kilian Eng’s limited edition print “Space is the Place”, a tribute to afro-futurist jazz musician Sun Ra. In these large format 7-colour hand screen printed posters the Swedish illustrator celebrates Sun Ra's rich aesthetic and intellectual universe in truly spectacular fashion.

Over thirty years after we were first introduced to Mad Max, FURY ROAD has proven to be a film worth waiting for with exceptional performances and absolutely stunning visuals. I saw it last night and WOW it is 2 hours of hold your breath white knuckle fun. It is one of those movies that MUST be seen on a large screen. Heavy Metal Kilian Eng Poster & Sunset Overdrive Mondo Release

On Thursday Mondo will have the remaining posters from San Diego Comic Con 2014 for HEAVY METAL and SUNSET OVERDRIVE. Kilian Eng worked on HEAVY METAL and is some of their favorite work from Kilian. The colors on these are unreal. Matt Taylor is the artist on SUNSET OVERDRIVE and they're proud to say it's their first poster for a video game. The game looks like it'll be a ton of fun and Matt captured the energy and frenzy extremely well.

Night of the Living Dead Poster by Kilian Eng Grey Matter Art Release

Grey Matter Art will have great looking new release next week as the classic zombie movie Night of Living Dead comes alive in poster form from the mind of Kilian Eng.

Mike from Grey Matter Art discuss the poster:

"Before we decided to tackle this project, we really wanted to find the right artist to agree to it. This film is very special to me, and I see it as one of the best horror classics of all time. It still holds up to this day when I watch it. So picking the right artist to portray it correctly was important to me. When I think of Kilian, I don't immediately think of him doing this type of genre, but for some reason it just seemed to fit well together. So we got in touch, and he said before he agrees, he wanted to view it. He did, and said yes. It didn't take long for the piece to come together, he pretty much nailed the idea the first time around after adding a couple of tweaks. I think even though Kilian is known for his amazing Sci-Fi posters, I see this poster as one of his absolute best. Night of the Living Dead may have some great posters out there already, but I see this as an instant classic, representing the movie perfectly, I wouldn't be too surprised to see Kilian taking on more classic horror films in the future".

Stargate Movie Poster by Kilian Eng Release Details

On Wednesday December 11th, Skuzzles will be releasing a brand new officially licensed screenprint movie poster, showcasing artwork by Kilian Eng. For some time now they wanted to work on a screenprint with Kilian and Stargate was definitely the perfect opportunity. Call them crazy, but when it comes to illustrating science-fiction environments, Kilian seems to know a thing or two. Kilian has an unmistakable illustration style that he uses to perfectly mesh together two prominent elements from Stargate--the alien world of an ancient civilization and the advanced technologies seen throughout the film.

 Skuzzles asked Killian to contribute some feedback to everyone and here's what kindly he had to say:

"Stargate is an aesthetic masterpiece and fantastic Adventure. To create a science fiction film and include one of if not the most interesting and fascinating ancient civilizations in it is great idea. When I got the opportunity to create a print for Stargate I knew right away that i wanted to draw the two guards with the appearances of Horus, the god of sky and protection and Anubis the protector of the dead. Besides from being two of the most well known ancient Egyptian gods they also look fantastic in the film, perhaps some of the coolest looking costumes in any sci-fi movie. Stargate is a true classic adventure/sci-fi film that combines the ancient with high tech in a great way."
