Jock Empire Strikes Back Movie Poster Release From Mondo

Two years ago, Mondo set out on a course with Acme Archives and one of their favorite artists in the galaxy, Jock, to create a series of posters celebrating the iconic Star Wars saga. They kicked it off with “Into the Garbage Chute, Flyboy,” at SDCC ’16. Today, they’re proud to announce that the second poster in the series, “That Armor’s Too Strong for Blasters,” will be available as a Timed Edition (as well as Limited Edition variant) starting Tuesday!

Featuring Luke’s heroic take down of an AT-AT via lightsaber, Jock continues to provide his unique take on the films by choosing to focus on stunning pivotal moments within each episode. “That Armor’s Too Strong for Blasters” will be available as a Timed Edition on Tuesday, 2/20 at 12PM (CT) and will run through Friday, 2/23 until 12PM (CT). There will be a Limited Edition variant of the artwork available at 12PM (CT), as well.

James Eads Moonflowers For Time Travelers Art Print Release

James Eads is releasing a new screenprint Friday as a timed edition that he is very excited about.

"Moonflowers for Time Travelers" is an 18" x 24" six color screenprint on archival Coventry Rag paper with a 1.5" border with hand deckled edges. Prints will be available in timed edition style starting Friday, February 16th at 3PM Pacific Time and ending Monday February 19th at 3PM Pacific Time. Prints will cost $75 + shipping and will be shipped flat in a protective sleeve and sandwiched between sheets of durable cardboard.

There will also be a very limited edition of 33 prints with a seventh layer of 24K gold leaf. These prints will cost $200 + shipping and will be available at the same time.

Denys Cowan Black Panther Movie Poster Release By Mondo

This weekend we get another entry into the long-running Marvel Cinematic Universe with the release of BLACK PANTHER. Directed by Ryan Coogler, the film features an incredibly stacked talent roster and tells the story of T’Challa, King of the African nation of Wakanda — and its protector, the Black Panther.

 The folks at Mondo seriously cannot wait to see the film, and to celebrate its monumental release they’re proud to offer a stunning new poster by legendary comic artist Denys Cowan. They have long been HUGE admirers of his work in comics, not to mention his iconic artwork for one of the greatest Hip-Hop records ever: GZA’s 'Liquid Swords.' For Mondo it was a real pleasure working with him on this poster, which features inks from his longtime collaborator, the great Bill Sienkiewicz, and beautiful colors by Chris Sotomayor.
