With each new poster NC Winters is really pushing the design envelope and this one punches straight on through, an amazing piece of art.

Using every gig poster to constantly try and push my skills, experiment and see how much I can completely break the screenprinting process in the efforts to create something new, I’m pleased to present this bucket of madness, the poster for the Primus gig last Thursday, July 5 in LA. I worked super dense and went for a rich range of shading on this one, and indeed utilized a total of 4 black inks to round out the gamut. One solid black, and three separate transparent blacks were all painstakingly split out to go over three different rich colors. Ultimately the print is four colors, with seven screens used. Special shout out to Jon Smith for his help on some of the finer tweaks for the blacks. DL Screenprinting handled the final printing, and absolutely knocked it out of the park.
