Tom Whalen Ratatouille Movie Poster & Dave Perillo Mikes New Car Release From Cyclops

Omelette au fromage is French for new poster alert!...Ok maybe not. It means cheese omelette, but that’s not the point. The point is we have new prints dropping, Cyclopes!!! It's a Pixar month this April.

Let’s talk about this first one. It’s one that a lot of you have been patiently waiting and asking for and alas the time has come! In time for a Parisian spring arrival.

Tom Whalen perfectly captured the sweet symphonic notes of Paris, in his new (Regular and Variant) prints for “Ratatouille”.

 On to their next, this next print is the first in a series by Dave Perillo. Cyclops kick off his Pixar short series with “Mike’s New Car”. We see a mythical folklore critter and some mischievous magic in the future. Stay tuned for new additions to the series.

Winner of the Super Bowl Poster Giveaway

Wow that was a hell of game last night. The majority of people that entered picked the Patriots to win but the Eagles never let up in the game and brought the city of Philadelphia their first Super Bowl win.

So who won you are wondering? Odds makers put the over/under at 48.5 points 74 points were scored in the game and they set the record for most combined yards ever in a football game. And there was only 1 punt. It was a fun game to watch.

Super Bowl Poster Giveaway With Jim Mazza & Dave Perillo

As most of you know this Sunday is the Super Bowl. New England Patriots are playing the Philadelphia Eagles in what should be a great game. In years past I have done a couple of these poster giveaways with the winner of the Super Bowl deciding the poster.

This year representing the Patriots will be Jim Mazza and he has offered up his Primus Artist Edition VIP Summer Poster from the 2017 tour.

Dave Perillo hailing from Philadelphia will be representing the Eagles. He has offered his First Downs to Touchdowns Mascot print.

Here is how it will work. Choose the team you think will win the Super Bowl and if the winner chooses the winner of the Super Bowl they win a poster from the artist representing that team (only 1 winner). Tie breaker #1 will be total points scored by both teams. Tie breaker #2 will then be passing yards by the winning quarterback, so you have to name the quarterback and how many yards he will throw for. Both of those are closest without going over -Prices Is Right rules will be in effect. If I have to go to a 3rd level tie breaker it will be whoever posts the earliest with the correct info based on the time stamp of the comment.

So in your comment you need Your Name, Team you think will win, total points scored by both teams and the winning quarterback and how many yards did he throw for. If your comment does not have any of the necessary information it will not be published.

This giveaway is only open to residents of the United States. So if you don't live in the US please do not enter. It's nothing personal but shipping costs are just insane after they raised them.

Mondo Nickelodeon Show Poster Release Part 1

This past weekend Mondo opened up their final gallery show of the year, "A Nick-Nick-Nick-Nick-N-Nick-Nick-Nick...Nickelodeon Show!" In addition to the Friday night reception, they hosted a Family Day on Saturday morning complete with slime, face painting, coloring, prizes and coffee & donuts. The first bunch of 8 posters including this great Ren & Stimpy poster by Dave Perillo will be Tuesday at a random time at Mondotees.com .

Mondo Gallery Presents A Nickelodeon Show

Mondo are thrilled to announce their final gallery show of the year, a new one-week poster exhibit highlighting iconic Nickelodeon properties including gorgeous prints for The Ren & Stimpy Show, SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Rocko’s Modern Life, Aaahh!!! Real Monsters and Avatar. The awesome line-up of artists includes Florian Bertmer, Dave Perillo, Francesco Francavilla, Rosemary Valero-O’Connell, Sachin Teng, Ciro Nieli, Sara Kipin and Janice Chu.

The opening reception, free and open to the public, will be held on Friday, December 9, from 7:00 – 10:00pm at the Mondo Gallery in Austin, TX (4115 Guadalupe St). The show will run through Saturday, December 17.

Mondo Creative Director Mitch Putnam said "Nickelodeon was a huge part of my childhood. It represented everything cool and rebellious, and parents didn't know anything about it. We worked with a number of great artists to pay homage to some of the channel's most influential programming. We hope you have as much fun seeing it as we had making it."

"Thrilled to be part of the Nickelodeon show with Mondo. I grew up watching Nickelodeon when my family first got cable in the early ‘80s, with shows like Pinwheeland You Can't Do That on Television. Always wanted to get slimed for saying 'I don't know?' or food poisoning from Barth's Burgery," said artist Dave Perillo.

In addition to our usual Friday-night opening, they're so excited to host a special Family Day on Saturday, December 10, from 10am – NOON, featuring a Slime Building Workshop with Mad Science of Austin, face painting, photo booth, coffee and donuts, and more!

As tradition with Mondo's end-of-the-year gallery shows, they'll be hosting their fourth toy drive benefiting Toys for Tots! They encourage fans bring a toy (suggested retail price of $10 - $25) to donate at the opening reception, taking place from 7PM - 10PM. Please be sure your toy is new, unopened and unwrapped. On opening night, fans who bring a toy donation with receive first-access into the show.

Dave Perillo The Descendents Posters Release

Dave Perillo has been enlisted by Rockabilia to create some posters for the legendary punk band The Descendents. They will release three different screen printed posters. Each print is limited to 77 copies, and will be available on Friday March 18 at 11:00 a.m. CST exclusively at Rockabilia.com. All color variants are 12 x 24 three-color screen prints on Cougar Natural Paper, hand numbered for $50.

Tom Whalen & Dave Perillo Inside Out Movie Posters Release Details

Cylcops Print Works are releasing two brand new Inside Out-inspired art prints on February 5 at noon (Pacific time). The first print is a poster from Tom Whalen, who has done equally mind-shattering prints based on other Disney and Pixar films (most recently Lilo & Stitch). The twelve-color print is 24” x 36” and has a hand-numbered run of 330. (Ialso heard there will be some emotion-inspired variants.) “I arrived at the final design you see after a longer-than-usual experimentation process. I can usually distill the essence of a film pretty quickly, but Inside Out proved a bit more challenging. I recall watching the film for the first time and enjoying all of the metaphor that was at play between the way the emotions behaved and Riley’s actions. I wanted a little bit of that metaphor to come into play in this poster,” Whalen explained. Whalen added: “Overall, this was a project that asked me to dig a bit deeper in order to produce an end result that’s worthy of an incredible film.”

Speaking of Bing Bong, the second print is from Dave Perillo, who brings Riley and Bing Bong’s song to life. Featuring all of the lyrics from the ear worm-y ode to everyone’s favorite imaginary friend, plus stylized renditions of young Riley and Bing Bong, the seven-color print is 10” x 20” and has a hand-numbered run of 250. Dave Perillo had this to say about his serigraph: “After seeing Inside Out, Bing Bong was my favorite part of the movie. I found it so interesting exploring what becomes of a child’s imaginary friend as she would get older. I wanted to approach this piece in the style and tone of a children’s book, something that you might see in a vintage Golden Book. The biggest challenge was translating a three-dimensional animated character to work as a flat two dimensional imagery.”
