Matt Leunig Widespread Panic Chattanooga Poster And DC Brau Release

No comments:

Matt Leunig will have his latest Widespread Panic poster on sale Monday.

Matt talks about the design:
Chattanooga, TN has some easy imagery associated with it…. the “Chattanooga Choo Choo”… Riverboats… bridges.. trains, etc. All of which I wanted to stay away from. Poster concepts that feature a lot of imagery and reference to the city in question tend to be really successful but I didn’t want it to completely dictate the whole direction of the piece. My wife has gone to Chattanooga a bunch and spoke a lot about the boat culture as well as the huge Aquarium they have. I knew I wanted to do something aquatic and mysterious and have always loved the other worldly look and design of old deep sea diving suits.
The 5-color poster is 18′ x 24′ and has a print run of 300 which SOLD OUT at the show. Matt will be making a run of about 60 Artist Edition prints (signed/numbered) available on Monday, April 25th at 11AM PDT at http://scrapedknee.com/

At the same time he will have his DC Brau poster for sale. The big DC Brau Brewery 5th Anniversary concert featured 5 kickass metal bands and the introduced 5 new collab beers with breweries from around the country.

Darin Shock Dopapod Philadelphia Diptych Posters Release

No comments:

Here are Darin Shock's Dopapod diptych posters for their shows this past weekend in Philadelphia. Darin collectively calls them the "cosmic conductor". Each poster forms one body of art that, not to get too philosophical, deals with his belief that music (and the arts in general) is likely this planet's greatest contribution to the universe. There's a central theme to discovering the "key" to this knowledge while other cultures and planets observe. Plus it subtly deals with the dualities of heaven & hell, right & wrong, etc. Also, Dopapod's music is very exploratory and visual to Darin so there are some lyrical inspiration as well.

Single night posters are 18x24" prints (24x36 uncut)
4 color screen print
Darin will have a very small amount of regular, lava foil, and rainbow foil edition (both cut and uncut) available on Monday at 2pm EDT here.

Here is what artist Chris Garofalo had to say about “Nosferatu”:
"Nosferatu" is a timeless classic, a captivating story wrapped in unsettling, yet beautiful imagery. It's nearly impossible NOT to be inspired visually and creatively by this film, and for me, it was all about the typography. I found something very unique and interesting about the shapes that the letters made, so I rolled with it and the end result is something I'm very proud of, both conceptually and technically. I'd also like to say that its an honor to join an endlessly talented fellow artist and friend, Godmachine in carrying the Nosferatu torch for the mighty Grey Matter Art. I'm damn proud to be in such mighty fine company, and I hope you enjoy these prints!---Chris Garofalo
This poster will be released on Wednesday, April 27th on the GMA website at 1:00 PM EDT at www.greymatterart.com
