Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds Milwaukee Poster by Brian Ewing

No comments:

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds always get some great posters on their tours and this one by Brian Ewing keeps that tradition going.

Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds in Milwaukee
18"x24" Screen Print Edition of 100 Signed & Numbered

Printed using a special metallic ink combo, this print actually changes as you walk around it for an optical illusion that’s not to be missed!

Check out this quick TUMBLR video to see how the print changes depending on what angle you're viewing it.

Briant on the poster:
So excited that I got a chance to design a poster for one of the greatest songwriters out there. I got into Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds when "Let Love In" came out. I was living in Minneapolis, and working at a Kinko's. This album changed my life. It gave my brain a much needed break from all the pop punk and post grunge that had been flooding the airwaves. Cave completed the trifecta - the trinity of great singer/songwriters for me. Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits and Nick Cave. His music puts images in my head that I've spent years trying to get out onto paper. He's a storyteller.

I always felt that Robert Mitchum in "Night Of The Hunter" seemed like he could have been a character in one of Cave's songs. A corrupt reverend-turned-serial killer who uses his charms to woo an unsuspecting widow and her two children in an attempt to steal a fortune hidden by the woman's dead husband. Ife you liked Mitchum in the original Cape Fear then you'll love this movie too! The scene where he explains why he has "Love" and "Hate" tattooed on his knuckles is awesome. Go see the movie now!

Pearl Jam Vienna Austria Poster by Duffyleg

No comments:

Pearl Jam are in Vienna Austria tonight and a new artist is doing the poster by the name of Duffyleg. He is a Seattle artist that migrated from Arizona to the great Northwest, he found a home in the skate and snowboard industry. The combination of those experiences and influences have shaped my interest in street art, being out late at night, punk rock, hot rods, the fifties, old advertisements, vulgarity, and more. The majority of my work is a mash up of real found imagery and my own variations of my inspirations. The Themes that I find myself drawn to mostly are the old, rare, occult, off color, monsters, ghouls, advertisements, underground, lowbrow, custom culture, tattoos, and just the generally weird. Thanks to someone on twitter for the image of the back sorry I cant remember who it was.

Check out more of his work at  www.electriccoffin.com and www.thepiranhashop.com

Cryptik The Jewel In The Lotus Print Release Details

No comments:

Cryptik, a Los Angeles based artist is back with 1xRUN today for an incredible release titled The Jewel In The Lotus.

"This print was inspired by a painting I did last year as part of the ongoing 'Mantra Mandala Series.' I recreated it using hand-painted color separations specifically for this release. This piece is part of a recent series that I've been exploring called the 'Mantra Mandalas,' where art can become a tool for meditation. These are printed on 100% cotton rag, using hand-painted color separations done in acrylic.

This is something I've been seeing in my mind, but I've always imagined the rings rotating like a Tibetan prayer wheel where each rotation is equivalent to reciting the mantra out loud. Hence, I decided to use the same mantra, OM MANI PADME HUM (the Jewel In the Lotus). Basically, this print is just a freeze frame of that vision." - Cryptik

This RUN is signed, numbered and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Cryptik and 1xRUN.

The prints are 29.5 x 29.5 Inches 4-Color Serigraph on 290gsm Coventry Rag Fine Art Paper. These prints are printed at Serio Press by master printer Tony Clough.

There will be two editions the standard with a run of 70. Then the baller Gold Leaf edition that will have a run of only 20 and it will be 5 colors.

Look of The Weird Golden Print & Original Artwork

No comments:

One of the founding members of The Weird LOOK is releasing some new work at 1xRUN today. First is a print titled Golden plus he has four original paintings as well.

"This print is part of a cycle of six canvases I painted for a show in Mexico City. The cycle of six canvases is called: "... It was all green instead", and this is the canvas "Golden". Two of the six canvases are gone but the rest is still for sale as the original "Golden" canvas still is.

I had an idea about a post-apocalyptic setting in a fake jungle in an adventure-park with a native couple who is praying to a golden predator drone which is fallen from the sky." - Look

The print and paintings will be on sale Tuesday at NOON EDT at 1xRUN.com
