Erica Williams did this print titled London Burning for the recent Dead Rockstars show in Seattle. As someone that loves The Clash, a poster with Joe Strummer on it instantly became my favorite piece in the show. She contacted me and said hey I want one of your readers to have one of these. I could not get the email typed out fast enough going YES YES YES. Ben LaFond at Burlesque printed it and it looks killer in person. Erica was kind enough to offer one of only 10 Artist Proofs to one of you my lucky readers.
Now go to the top of the post above the picture and click on comments or scroll down (depends on how you see this post) to leave a comment about The Clash to have a chance at winning the poster. Don't worry if your comment does not appear immediately I have to approve them before they are published. I will use the random number generator to pick a winner. Entries are limited to ONE PER PERSON PER HOUSEHOLD. Please leave your name with the comment, comments without names will not be accepted. Entries will be accepted until midnight PDT Saturday October 6 that's two days to enter with the winner announced on Sunday.
BIG THANK YOU to Erica Williams for providing this killer poster for the giveaway. Be sure to check out her work at http://ericawilliamsillustration.com/ she still has a couple of these for sale too.
One of my earliest memories is dancing around to Lost in the Supermarket with my dad. Music has had a massive influence on me throughout my life due to my dad's infectious love and passion for it, but this is a truly definitive memory from my childhood. Sadly my dad passed away in February of this year, but I have memories such as this one that will stay with me always. Joe Strummer was and will continue to be a truly legendary musician.

My relationship with the Clash has been on going for at least 15 years now. Whenever I hear Magnificent Seven...I get in a good mood. I was in a Chinese restaurant when I saw that Joe Strummer had died...my heart sank...and those egg rolls really sucked that night.
ReplyDeleteGreat poster. Thanks for this contest!

The oil down the desert way
Has been shakin' to the top
The sheik he drove his Cadillac
He went a-cruisin' down the ville
