ASVP Balaclava Print On Sale Today

1xRUN are excited to welcome back ASVP as they have again returned with some of their beautiful hand-pulled screen prints that feature their signature Balaclava image. There are 2 different colors and 2 different sizes making up the 2 editions

"The Balaclava is by far our most aggressive image. A lot of our other work uses imagery that is much more benign. The Balaclava seems to work harder than some of our other images, it has gotten a strong response from a lot of people, it seems to really grab people’s attention and interest. The image explores the classic relationship between, love and hate. It also touches on the idea that, what we so often worship one minute, we turn our backs on and defile the next. " - ASVP

"This is a four color hand pulled, screen print. Custom (rich) Black, Light Red (underneath hearts) and a darker custom red used for the knit pattern over the heart shapes. All inks custom mixed by ASVP in the studio. The fourth color is a pearlescent white that we used to print the robot head watermark in the lower right corner. The simplicity of the Red/Black/White makes the piece feel clean and it really pops. The black that we mixed for this is beautiful, it has a subtle plum tone to it that marries very well with the reds in the hearts." - ASVP

Balaclava - Red/Black 30 Inch Edition 22 x 30 Inches 4-Color Screen Prints on 200lbs Acid Free Archival Paper Signed and Numbered edition of 25

"The fade is a really nice element within this piece and the metallic blue is really beautiful. The pink and blue palette gives it a “bubble gum” flavor that pulls nicely against the darkness of the mask image. This is a five color hand pulled, screen print. Pearlescent Black to Metallic Blue fade, Light Pink (underneath hearts) and a darker / hot pink was used for the knit pattern over the heart shapes. All inks custom mixed by ASVP in the studio. The fifth color is a pearlescent white that we used to print the robot head watermark in the lower right corner." - ASVP

Balaclava - Pink/Metallic Black To Blue Fade Edition 22 x 30 Inches 5-Color Screen Prints on 200lbs Acid Free Archival Paper Signed and Numbered edition of 20

"The image itself, along with the size of this piece, gives it quite a powerful presence. We’ve received very positive feedback from contemporary art collectors who have a space large enough to handle it, we wouldn’t recommend this piece to a younger collector or someone that has limited wall space. Each of these pieces is hand embellished in the background fills, underneath the hearts were hand (brush) painted with a transparent red wash. Each print was hand pulled and made using custom colors that were mixed in our studio." - ASVP

Balaclava - Red & Black 50 Inch Edition 38 x 50 Inches 2-Color Hand-Embellished Screen Prints on 300lbs Acid Free Archival Paper Signed and numbered edition of 3

  1. It's a ski mask, not a balaclava. And the image pretty much makes no sense, but hey, it looks urban!
