Anthony Petrie's highly anticipated second volume of A Warrior's Dreams Knights posters are now available!
This is a set of 4 posters which continue my Warrior's Dreams series of screen-prints. This volume is inspired by the Code of Chivalry followed by Northern European Knights from the Middle Ages. Each poster is masterfully screen-printed on metallic foil (chrome and gold), with a spot layer of clear metallic sparkle on the armor.
Conceptually, the short stories found in Sir Thomas Malory's Le Morte d'Arthur (1485), which was important in defining the ideal of chivalry, served as the inspiration for this collection. Aesthetically, the armor referenced in these prints were heavily inspired by the Arms and Armor exhibit in The Metropolitan Museum of Art, which houses rare pieces from pre-1500 Europe, specifically the highly decorative armor from the Royal Workshops at Greenwich founded by Henry VIII. Each poster embodies the essentials to the modern concept of the knight; an elite warrior sworn to uphold the values of faith, loyalty, courage, and honour.
