Armando Chainsawhands The Kiss Originals and HPMs

No comments:

It's been awhile since Armando Chainsawhands released a print, as he been working on commissions and originals and small batches of originals/hand-painted multiples. The first batch of originals/HPMs are for sale RIGHT NOW and are titled The Kiss and are spray paint stencils on a spray painted background, using Montana Glitter Effect and Montana Holographic Glitter Effect spray paint on the stenciled parts, so they really pop!

The paper originals are 8.5" x 11" on Canson 185 gsm fine art paper with Montana Glitter Effect spray paint on the stenciled part, giving it a glossy, translucent look with silver-colored glitter particles for a sparkle effect. And there are 6-7 different colors to chose from.

The wood originals are 9" x 12" by 1.5" deep on basswood panel cradled with a pine frame with Montana Holographic Glitter Effect spray paint, giving it a glossy, translucent rainbow of color depending on the angle of view due to the holographic glitter particles.

The paper pieces are $40 and the wood pieces are $60 and are available for sale RIGHT NOW at http://www.armandochainsawhands.com/the-kiss.html

Saber Indivisible HPM Art Print

No comments:

Saber has released a new Hand Embellished print titled Indivisible.

Details from the graffiti legend: This print was an experiment from start to finish. This is a multi-dimensional mixed media print in the sense that the original image was created as a conceptual digital-video piece. From this video experiment I was able to capture the final image to be translated into the print format. This was tricky breaking the American Flag that was printed on glass and capturing the right moments as it shattered but as this process evolved and so did the outcome. I really went all out on these prints with the hand touching. Within the printed layers are raw spraypaint tags buried under multi-colored split fountains. I also penciled and spraypainted on top of the prints weaving these colors and gestures through the image. Now multiply each one of these hand done whips and bits times 128. This large multi-media print was definitely a challenge, but with this came some amazing results.

Standard Edition: 68 (60 available)
Size: Roughly 71 cm x 102.5 cm
Signed In Pencil and Numbered In Bottom Left Corner
Seriopress Chop In Right Corner
Hand Deckled Edges
Each Print Has Spraypaint And Pencil Embellishments
Signed COA
Each Print Is Unique From The Next

There are also black and white variants as well.

Rain Over Me Foilz HPM On Rain Drop Foil Release

No comments:

As many of you know The Who and specifically Keith Moon made the RAF roundel a part of the Mod culture of England back in the 60's and all in the name of style and pop-art. But where did it come from originally ?

During the First World War, the French used a tricolor cockade symbol to distinguish their planes from enemy aircraft. Initially the British painted the Union Jack under the wings and on the sides of their planes, however, from a distance, this marking was easily confused with the German Iron Cross. From 11 December 1914, the British followed the example of the French and, by reversing the colors of the target, created their own roundel and the new standard marking for the RAF.

After seeing this paper, with my love for The Who, Quadrophenia and Pearl Jam the idea came together.

Rain Over Me is a 12 x 12 inch HPM with Montana Gold spray paint and 2 stencils. The Rain Drop Foil paper is amazing in person. If you catch the light at the right angle it really looks like you are looking into a pool of water. Each one is unique and hand made. This has an edition of only 19.

There will also be a random GIVEAWAY of 3 test HPM's. The first one on Lava Foil is Fan Test. Yes I put the paper on a window fan turned it on and let the paint fly, only made 1. Next is Red Stickman on Rainbow foil, once again edition of only 1. The last one is White/Glow in the Dark Stickman on Rainbow Foil edition of 1. These will be randomly inserted into orders.

Handbill HPM's you can also order the Stickman on Lava Foil handbill that measures 5x7 inches. Or the Skull King on Lava Foil measuring 5x7 inches he was done with fluorescent paint and looks great under a black light.  You can only order these if you order Rain Over Me.

Rain Over Me goes on sale at 2PM EDT Wednesday on the FOILZ Page in the store HERE

Armando Chainsawhands Patriot HPM Print Release

No comments:

For his latest print, Armando Chainsawhands wanted to capture the quick and dirty energy of rebellion, using taped reverse stencils and spray paint to create test sprays that he scanned into Photoshop to create the layers for this two color, full bleed screen print on 100lb white Cougar cover stock, meant to evoke a flag in distress. Buy them at http://www.armandochainsawhands.com/patriot-1.html.

A handful of unique hand painted multiples on 300 gsm Arches 88 white deckle edged paper and 250 gsm Stonehenge black deckle edged paper will release at the same time at http://www.armandochainsawhands.com/patriot-hpm.html.

Join the Resistance Foilz Hand Painted Multiples HPM Art Release

No comments:

Truth, Justice and the American Way was first heard in autumn 1942 by the fans of the Superman radio show. Yes people used to listen to the radio for entertainment. This great nation was started on the resistance movement from the King of England and for 241 years the men and women of the military and private sector have fought for America.

But now this administration wants our country to no longer be a leader in the world, no longer a beacon of hope those around the world wanting a better life. He would rather play golf, lie, threaten journalist who call him out on his bullshit, deny certain peoples civil rights and try to impose his dictator like policy's in order to enrich his family.

On this Independence Day do not accept anything this presidential administration does as normal. Question everything and never give up the fight for the truth and what is right. My disgust with the current situation bore this to serve as a constant reminder to not accept what is happening.  There is a red edition of 5 and a black edition of 5 both on Lava Foil paper measuring 12 x 12 inches. They were created with Montana Gold Spray paint.  On sale now at https://insidetheposter.com/collections/exclusive-prints-and-original-art/products/chef-join-the-resistance-foilz-hand-painted-multiples-art-hpm-2017

Breaking Bad Golden Moth Foilz HPM Art Release

No comments:

Breaking Bad will always be remembered as one of the best series on TV. Better Call Saul just ended there third season and the story of Jimmy McGill has been a wild ride as some of the characters from Breaking Bad have been woven through the story.

One of the iconic scenes involved Jesse Pinkman and Lydia in the warehouse and using a forklift to grab a barrel of methylamine, but discovered that there was a GPS tracker affixed to the bottom of the barrel. The barrel had the Golden Moth on it.

I thought it would be fun to do it on some Lava Foil paper. Done with fluorescent spray paint it looks really cool under a black light. The HPM measures 12 x 12 inches and only 10 them were made.

On sale now at www.InsidethePoster.com .

Make Racists Afraid Again HPM Art Print

No comments:

This Presidential election has been nothing less than bizarre and scary to say the least. I first saw this "Make Racists Afraid Again" mural on twitter some time last month and thought it made a great point. Appealing too and encouraging the worst in people is not what built this country and made it the best in the world. Soon after I saw a story about how BuzzFeed News deputy art director Ben King and his typographer colleague Mark Davis released a free font called "Tiny Hand", which is based on Donald Trump's "eccentric" handwriting (read about it HERE). Disgusted with his behavior on a daily basis and feeling the need to express it, an idea formed.

So I created 20 Hand Painted Multiples with only Montana Gold Spray Paint. They have a diverse amount of colors that blend together to form the message and no two are a like. The prints are 11 x 14 inches on Stonehenge 250 GSM Art Paper, the nice thick stuff.

On sale now at Inside the Poster Store.

Prefab77 An Eye For An Eyrie HPM's On Wood

No comments:

Prefab77 returns to 1xRUN with their latest series An Eye For An Eyrie available in 4 individually hand-painted colorways and 1 oversized edition all available exclusively on 1xRUN. Each totem in the series is uniquely hand-painted and ready to hang and promises to be one of Prefab77's most sought after.

"We have always loved the portrait, our current style is one of mixing allegorical portraiture with our hard, fast edged style, often with secret messages, religious affiliations and pop iconography woven into the art. We have explored the Totemic style in this release to carry these messages and to create a visually beautiful way to express an abstract idea or to convey and meaning not explicitly set out in the narrative. Like a really good 3 minute pop/rock track in can be a fable, a story or a Warning!" - Prefab77

Each one is 14 x 25 Inches (25.2 x 66cm) created with Spraypaint, Acrylic & Screenprint on CNC Cut Wood Panel

Persue Bunny Kitty MTA Card Prints & HPM's

No comments:

Persue is back with several new releases from 1xRUN featuring his Bunny Kitty character on MTA Cards.

"One night while in the studio with my friend Rime we were talking about ideas how I could let people know that I had made the move cross country from my home city of San Diego to New York. He just blurted out, how about painting on MTA cards?

I've seen the cards sprawled all over the floor of the subway stations. Everyday I ride the train it has become a scavenger hunt to see how many cards I could find. Some days I find 1 or 2. Some days I can find 10. And some days you strike out and don't find any. I even have friends collecting them off the floor of the subways for me. It's just a brilliant idea. It's a sustainable approach to art." - Persue

Shepard Fairey & RISK Peace & Justice HPM Release Details

2 comments:

An amazing piece of work from two legendary urban artists RISK and Shepard Fairey.
Details from Obey:

About a year ago I had the opportunity to collaborate on a mural in Miami during the Art Basel weekend with graffiti legend and friend, RISK. Surprisingly this was the first time we had the chance to collaborate and it was a true honor. RISK went down to Miami first and laid a beautiful spectrum and I came a few days later with my crew and painted in the cream details. The mural turned out so well that RISK and I decided to collaborate once again and turn the mural concept into a HPM (Hand Painted Multiple) Edition. RISK hand painted the background with his custom color fades and geometric shapes/patterns over my collage then we screen printed the imagery on top and varnished the whole thing. Each of the pieces has unique details. The Edition looks amazing! Oh, they are also signed by both of us. We are going to be releasing the 1st half of the edition on OBEY this coming Tuesday and the other half on Buckshot Prints at a later date, so stay tuned for info their release.
Peace and Justice Collaboration

Signed by Shepard Fairey and RISK
Edition of 40, deckled edges

Saber The Ugly American Print Series Release

No comments:

Brand new at The Outsiders this week are a swashbuckling series of works on paper from Saber with his The Ugly American Print Series. The Ugly American is the debut European solo show from elite graffiti-turned-gallery-artist Saber, and it's on now at The Outsiders Newcastle. Today they're making available these must-have works on paper named after the exhibition, all entirely hand-painted by the artist himself. They're on sale now.

The exhibition's title, The Ugly American, is taken from the multi-million-copy best selling book and movie: the phrase itself came to be a synonym for all that is wrong with American foreign policy, something very close to Saber's heart and practices. While it may not be obvious when glancing at his works, this theme is woven into the very fabric of every piece he's creating.

Eddie Colla Air Kowloon HPM's & Prints Release Details

No comments:

Really excited about this new piece of work by Eddie Colla. After getting his "Radio Yau Ma Tei" print I was hooked on his work.

"This piece came about when I was watching old videos of landings from Kai Tak Aiport in Hong Kong which closed in 1998. The planes look as if they are gonna touch the roofs in Kowloon. I wanted to incorporate some of that atmosphere into this series because it gives such a strong sense of place and that sense of place or atmosphere is very important to this series. The boxes are on cradled birch and are all unique in that they are all hand collaged, painted and distressed. So from piece to piece they will vary quite a bit. " - Eddie Colla

Air Kowloon is being released in two forms; one is an edition of 25 that is 18 x 12 x 1.75 Inches Hand-Painted Multiple On Cradled Birch Wood Panel. They are all unique. Individually collaged and embellished there are 25 available. These were pretty time consuming to make. Each box is collaged with an archival glue and sealed with acrylic. The base is then painted with a shellac based paint and the image is sealed face down onto the box. The next step is to remove all of the paper from the original prints until the only thing remaining is the pigment. The bowes are then embellished again with an amber shellac and sanded and distressed and finally sealed with acrylic.

The other is a 18 x 12 Inches Archival Pigment Print on 330gsm Fine Art Paper with an edition of 30

Both are signed and numbered with a COA
