In 1971 Roxy Music formed in England and forever changed the music scene. The early style and presentation of Roxy Music was influenced by the art school backgrounds of its principal members. Bryan Ferry, Andy Mackay and Brian Eno all had studied at prominent UK art colleges during the mid-to-late 1960s, when these institutions were introducing courses that avoided traditional art teaching practice, with its emphasis on painting, and instead focused on more recent developments, most notably pop art, and explored new concepts such as cybernetics. Bryan Ferry has a voice like no one else, like a smooth jazz singer almost. Roxy Music's final studio album Avalon was released in 1982 but their influence lives on.
Last year Justin Hampton released his second Glam Fashionista print and this one featured Bryan Ferry. As huge fan of Roxy Music I was really excited and he captured Bryan in all his glory. The print is an eight color screen print with metallic pearlescent inks on 100 lb acid free paper stock measuring 18"x 24". Signed and numbered in a limited edition of only 30 artist proof prints.
Now go to the top of the post above the picture and click on comments or scroll down (depends on how you see this post) to leave a comment with name of a Roxy Music song if you want to have a chance at winning the poster (Only comments with a song name will be accepted). Don't worry if your comment does not appear immediately I have to approve them before they are published. I will use the Random Number Generator to pick a winner. Entries are limited to ONE PER PERSON PER HOUSEHOLD. Please leave your name with the comment, comments without names will not be accepted. Entries will be accepted until 11:59 PM PST Saturday April 5 with the winner announced on Sunday.
Now to make this really special the winner will also get an original hand drawn remarque on the print as well. Justin will do it up with the theme of Brian Eno since most folks see him as being as important as Brian Ferry to the band.
BIG THANK YOU to Justin Hampton for providing the poster for the giveaway and for adding a killer remarque on the print. If you have never listened to Roxy Music start with these albums Siren, Manifesto, Flesh and Blood and Avalon.
