No comments:

PangeaSeed is pleased to announce the latest print of the ongoing Sea of Change: The Year of Living Dangerously - Vol. 2 print suite by guest artist Nychos (Austria). The highlighted species of this edition is the threatened Yellowfin Tuna (Thunnus Albacares).

Nychos
Title: "Thunnus Albacares"
18x24 inches on 100lbs cougar paper
11 color screen print signed & numbered edition of 100 for $150 USD. Printed by the fine folks at VGKids

Available Tuesday, December 21, 2016, 12 pm PST at https://shop.pangeaseed.co/

Artist statement:
With it's speed and beauty, the yellow fin tuna is the most interesting sea dweller for Nychos. This is why he chose to honor the species with a translucent portrayal for this fine art print release. Nychos is aware of and watches critically as people continue to over-harvest the seas which directly harms the yellow fin tuna. The population of this beautiful fish, named after the bright color of its fins, is already in drastic decline. By collaborating with PangeaSeed Foundation, Nychos aims to bring attention to the endangerment of the THUNNUS ALBACARES - before it's too late.

No comments:

Ocean lovers and art collectors alike now have something to look forward to in 2016. PangeaSeed is pleased to announce its fourth annual fine-art print project, Sea of Change: The Year of Living Dangerously - Volume 2. In an effort to educate and raise awareness of the state of the world’s oceans, the year-long series will feature 12 ocean animals whose existence is threatened by human impact.

Every month, PangeaSeed will release a limited-edition fine art print focusing on a specific threatened marine species including the hammerhead shark, narwhal, coral, leatherback sea turtle, vaquita porpoise, humpback whale, and more.

The artists bringing these charismatic creatures to life are some of today’s top creative
masterminds such as Nychos, Tatiana Suarez, Jeff Soto, Dave Kinsey, Nevercrew, Dan
Mumford, Nosego, Kozyndan, Cryptik, Casey Weldon, Li Hill and Marko Manev.

"The Year of Living Dangerously is a is a truly unique project that enables us to reach
audiences that may otherwise not be exposed to the important environmental issues that are close to our hearts," says PangeaSeed founder Tre’ Packard. "Once the prints hang on
someone’s wall, they continue to act as conversation starters, and go beyond being just a
beautiful piece of art."

Over the past four years, PangeaSeed’s print suites have helped fund PangeaSeedFoundation’s programs, which shed light on pressing ocean environmental issues through art, design, and new media. Portions of the proceeds from this 2016 project will continue to support the Foundation’s efforts.

For those interested in collecting all 12 prints, PangeaSeed has a limited-time offer subscription to the complete series through February 15, 2016. Subscribers do not need to worry about missing out on any of the highly popular print releases, and can enjoy free domestic and international shipping.

Nychos Two Face Batman Print Release

No comments:

Geek-Art and French Paper Art Club are particularly proud of their collaboration with Nychos on the Batman license. They have been fan of this Austrian artist since they first had a look on his Street Anatomy series a few years ago. Fan of comics and drawings, hunting was a tradition in his family. No wonder the dissection of imaginary and real animals is now his specialty. The origins of this unique art series comes from his early watching of Disney's The Little Mermaid. Nychos asked himself how mermaids could reproduce, how their body could work... Questions he himself brought the answers on through his art. He later imagined the anatomy of Sponge Bob for Nickelodeon, or for the Ninja Turtles. He mainly draws giant murals with gigantic and gorgeous dissected animals, always adding a touch of humor to his art. In 2005 he funded the Rabbit Eye Movement, based on his art, that quickly led to a gallery / illustration agency in Vienna, through which he collaborates with many urban artists.

With this Two-Face, an artwork especially created by Nychos for the French Paper Gallery and Geek-Art, they are really proud to bring their official Batman project to the next level. This world famous artist brings us his vision of one of the most interesting enemies of the Batman through an incredible 8 colors screen print, limited to 100 pieces shipped with Certificate of Authenticity. This giant print (60x80cm) will be available online and in the gallery this Wednesday the 9th of September, and will undoubtedly be one of the masterpieces of our upcoming DC Comics official art show coming soon. Stay tuned !

Nychos Deepest Depths of the Burrow San Francisco Premiere

No comments:

Christian getting the shot

2 Years ago Christian Fischer began his film with Nychos. I had the privilege of spending a day with them as filming took place, I might be in it. It was amazing watching him work and the speed and precision he rocks the rattle can is just nuts. Long time readers of the blog remember the pictures from all the murals he did with the Weird. The above pictures I have been sitting on for 2 years and happy to show them to you at last.

RABBIT EYE MOVEMENT and world-renowned graffiti artist Nychos will bring the highly anticipated documentary “The Deepest Depths of the Burrow” to San Francisco’s Castro Theatre on July 1st, 2015. Following a successful world premiere in Vienna, Austria, Nychos and director Christian Fischer begin a tour of the United States. The film, presented by 1xRUN, will show in Atlanta, Los Angeles and San Francisco this summer.

“The Deepest Depths of the Burrow” gives the viewer a first-hand look inside the lifestyle of a contemporary street artist, following Nychos through the experiences that come with traveling the world painting walls, exhibiting in galleries and gaining international acclaim as an artist. Featuring interviews from Shepard Fairey, Smithe, Ron English and a host of other established and up-and-coming urban artists, the documentary is an authentic perspective on the street art phenomenon.

Check out information on the San Francisco premiere and see the trailer for “The Deepest Depths of the Burrow” below.

The Weird & Nychos Pyramid of Fat Mural in Eastern Market Detroit Michigan

No comments:

The past several weeks The Weird; Nychos, DXTR, Cone, LOOK, HRVB, Vidam were in Detroit, Michigan brought in by Inner State Gallery for some shows at the gallery and to create some incredible murals. Here is the final mural they created and after these past weeks they have really left their mark on a city that needs a something good in it. They have brightened up the area in Eastern Market of Detroit with four incredible murals along with some smaller pieces around town as well. At the same time Nychos was being filmed for a documentary film about his work across the globe that is expected to be completed next year.

The shows at Inner State Gallery were a great exhibition of their talents in a smaller scale that people could purchase in the form of prints and original work, check them out HERE. Local people were in awe of the massive scale and skill The Weird possessed with just spray paint to create the art and everyone is looking forward to them coming back to add to the landscape again.

Nychos & The Weird Villains Mural Detroit Michigan

No comments:

The Weird and Nychos recently completed another incredible mural in Detroit's Eastern Market. The Inside the Rock Poster Street Team was there to capture this stunning piece of work. This one is titled The Weird Villains and was painted by DXTR, Nychos, Cone, HRVB, Vidam and Look. Asked why the car has square brick wheels DXTR said " Because it's stupider". That is not to be taken the wrong way, they just like a good laugh and to have fun with the work they create. Inner State Gallery has had them in Detroit the past few weeks doing murals and have a showing of their work at the gallery.

1xRUN even has a huge selection of original work by each member of the crew for sale right now as well, check it out at 1xRUN.com

Now if you are in the area Vidam did a couple of separate pieces of his own as well but you gotta look for them.
