Dan Grzeca Ween Royal Oak Poster

No comments:

Ween kicked off their summer tour in Royal Oak, MI last Friday and Dan Grzeca did the poster.

I asked Dan about the design:
Sure!  I used the song "Bumblebee" as a starting point and pretty much "winged" it from there. GET IT? Winged?.... oh boy.
Anyhow- tried to come up with something that was in the spirit of the punk aspects of the band and had fun with it!
The poster is an artist edition of 75 on French Paper Stock- 18 x 24 signed and numbered.

Dan Mumford Batman Dark Knight Movie Poster Release From Bottleneck Gallery

No comments:

The Dark Knight series of Batman movies will forever define the Batman character.  The Dark Knight is a film filled with seriously incredible set pieces, and one of the most tense and thrilling ones is the Joker’s game of chicken with Batman on his Batcycle. Dan Mumford’s interpretation of the scene captures the pure chaos the Joker has already caused, and his desire to have Batman break his rules.

There will be a regular edition screen print that measures 18 x 24 inches with an edition of 150. The variant has an edition of 75

Both posters will be on sale at noon EDT at  https://bottleneckgallery.com

Miles Tsang Ryan Adams Los Angeles Poster Variants World Premiere Exclusive

1 comment:

Miles Tsang did the poster for Ryan Adams concert at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on June 3 and it is my pleasure to debut the variants so you guys get to see them first.  I'm still blown away with every new poster Miles creates.

Details from Miles on the design:
The illustration is loosely inspired by the song Doomsday off of the new album/tour and combines my style of psychedelic figurative illustration with his deep interest in pinball as well as our mutual love of cats. And since Mr. Adams is also associated with The Grateful Dead, I threw a hidden glow in the dark skeleton layer in for good measure (all prints including variants have this feature).
All the posters are 12.5"x24" screenprints.
All editions (Artist Proofs, cool variant "Shiver And Shake", and warm variant "Ashes & Fire") have a run of 50 and are signed and numbered.
Regular AP's will be $50 +S&H and the variants will be $55 USD+S&H.

Posters go on sale Tuesday June 6th at Noon EDT at www.milestsang.com

Guy Burwell Avett Brothers, Band of Horses And A Free Print

No comments:

Guy Burwell has won his battle with cancer and has 2 new posters and a free print.

Details from Guy on the art;

Band of Horses were nice enough to let me take my sweet time and explore some of the weird brain clouds and come up with a new print for their Spring Tour coming up right now. The art is a sort of free form “let me do what feels comfortable and no hang ups” sort of medicated sunflower to start this new season. The prints are really attractive in a sort of Old Themes meet New Means sort of way.
PERSONAL NOTE: Coming out of having treatments and huge piles of fatigue and exhaustion of mind and body inside and out, making these three items were partly strange therapy in and of themselves. This Band of Horses art, loose and boundary-less was perfect for the first thing back. Having them let me let my pencil be weird was very necessary, and I appreciate the support.

A second offering, Road Warrior (not the Road Warrior you are thinking of but rather the first in a short line of) is a new small art print in the same spirit to get another little aspect of healing out through our brain, along our elbow, past the forearm vein and along the finger to the pencil then expressed via a nice Kuretake. The first in a small collection of these we hope.
PERSONAL NOTE: For them who draw, for profit or even just for fun, they know that access to the void is both therapy, desperately important therapy and also escape and also entertainment and also expression and also happiness. When that access is broken or denied, it makes everything harder. So finding it again is good stuff.

As a Third item, consider The Avett Brothers and my effort on their behalf and their infinite patience and glory in helping us out with some added purpose of effort and genial acceptance and support! Hooray, is the word for today. And here is the poster art that we provided for The Avett Brothers in Tallahassee, FL. for 2017. We were making an effort to make certain that we did a lot of drawing for this one, just to remind our self that it’s still possible. xo
PERSONAL NOTE: This one actually started slowly, went along slowly and ended very slowly as I took my time to concentrate on lots of tiny lines as I knew I would be having to deal with them sooner or later, and The Avett Brothers were super relaxed and willing to have me take the time to do something mental.

SALE INFO:
Once again Jason at Po'Boy arts, in conjunction with two hanging exhibits in Portland, and a recent fundraising Online Art Sale on our behalf (!!!) will be handling all of the arrangements for offering these prints to the Public! And our many thanks to him and everyone at Po' Boy.

The ninth release in the "Travel By Screen" series by Sally Centigrade Gallery, this one inspired by Portland and the 503 area code. For the series 51 screen printers were chosen, one from each state + Washington DC, each making a screen print themed / inspired by an area code in their state.

This week's release has a cool optical effect that took me awhile to see, but if you look close there is a very large "503" in the patterns above the mountain, its really cool.

James Flames Primus Asheville Poster And Mother Nature Print Release

No comments:

James Flames will have the poster he made recently for Primus, for their recent show in his home-base of Asheville, NC. This version was screenprinted by hand, and it contains similar artwork as the "Mother of Nature" art print, but has some fun changes and customization's.

This screenprinted Primus poster is also available in two very limited variant editions. One is printed on Kaleidoscope HoloFoil in an edition of 30, and the other is printed on 3-D Bubbles Foil in a super small edition of 5. Both these foils look really insane in person - with every move of the paper, the image dances colorfully and comes to life.

He is also excited to announce the release of his newest art print, entitled "Mother of Nature".

She's a force. And she's the source. And in her care are all the elements of nature: fire, water, all the flowers and foliage and flora in our world, the minerals buried in our earth, the clouds in the sky, even the sky itself, and, of course, the winds of change -- all of which are represented in the illustration by the different parts of her, from her hair, to her necklace, to her azure blue eyes.

This release is a little different than his usual, in that it's a Fine Art Giclée Print. In order to capture all the delicate nuance of the colors, this piece is printed with vibrant and archival inks, on the finest quality 290gsm paper.

Everything will be available today at Thursday, June 1st at 12 noon Eastern www.jamesflames.com
