Last May, Inside the Rock Poster Frame posted a piece on a Kickstarter campaign for the opening of Chicago's printmaking and street art gallery, Galerie F. With a huge amount of gratitude extended to our supporters, they were able to reach their funding goal and Galerie F opened its doors to the public on July 20th, 2012. The grand opening was an incredible success. Not only was it a celebration of the end of a seemingly limitless construction process, but the attendance surpassed our expectations and they've received nothing but positive support.
Galerie F is open six days a week from 11am to 6pm. They
have daily interaction with their customers, their community, and their
artists which is exactly what they had hoped for. The printmaking
community has been supportive since their opening, and they've been lucky
enough to have a great collection of artists agree to have their work at
Galerie F thus far their list surpasses over 50 nationally and
internationally. A few of the artists include,
- Delicious Design League
- Timothy Doyle
- Lil Tuffy
- Clockwork Pictures
- Mara Piccione
- Sean Mort
- DKNG
- Michael Hacker
- Landland
But this list seems to be expanding weekly.
The opening exhibition entitled Send Me Your Pigeons features
incredible work by three of the most talented artists in the poster
game - John Vogl, Landland, and Casey Burns. The exhibition runs till
September 7th, you can see all of the work online at galerief.com
or stop by the gallery during open hours. This exhibition features
three prints made exclusively for Galerie F, by both John Vogl and
Landland.
Now that they have tackled the opening and ironed out the
kinks, Galerie F hopes to move forward by commissioning exclusive prints
from a wide range of artists. The Galerie F Series will be continuously
releasing unique prints and art pieces - we have already begun with
work by print makers and designers Michael Lauritano, Sean Mort, and
Justin VanGenderen. Stay tuned for exclusive work by Timothy Doyle,
Michael Hacker, Justin Santora, and more.
