Charles Crisler Josh Ritter Free Friday Poster Giveaway


As I have said for years Flatstock Poster Shows are something you should not miss. It's always fun talking to the artist in person and finally getting to meet the ones you only talk through email with. This weekend was not different as I finally got to meet Charles Crisler of 27 Design Co.

Charles was kind enough to give you my fine readers a shot at his great looking Josh Ritter poster. And I will let him tell you about the poster in his own words.:
“Joy to the city, joy to the streets, and joy to you baby, wherever you sleep. Tonight, tonight, tonight…”
Those are part of the lyrics to Josh Ritter’s song Joy To You Baby and a big jumping off point for this poster. Movies like Back To The Future and Stand By Me as well as actual photographs of Bloomington Indiana were all referenced to create this poster. The year that I locked into was 1959, dictated by the newest car – the ’59 Cadillac hearse. The Buskirk-Chumley Theatre, the hardware store, and the church are the real deal! Those are the actual buildings in their true locations in Bloomington. The rest of the city was modified to represent Josh and Gregory’s work.

Don't worry if your comment does not appear immediately I have to approve them before they are published. I will use the Random Number Generator to pick a winner. Entries are limited to ONE PER PERSON PER HOUSEHOLD. Please leave your name with the comment, comments without names will not be accepted. Entries will be accepted until 11:59 PM PST Saturday July 26 with the winner announced on Sunday.

    Beautiful poster. Reminds me of seeing Josh on one of his many visits to Ireland. I met him in the Roisin Dubh in the fair town of Galway on the west coast of Ireland. Would really love this.
