When Rafa (the drummer) for Black Cobra contacted Malleus some weeks ago asking if they wanted to work on a poster for their european tour that started last week in Paris (and check the other dates here) they were totally excited.
Malleus needed to work on something that could represent their power and the energy they transmit, so the Malleus crew thought about something divine.
Something that could be related to a god and a snake and they came out with the Quetzalcoatl idea cause this aztec/mayan deity was considered the creator of Mankind that came out from his blood. Malleus worked on a “malleusdelic version” giving birth to a female goddess and when they showed the sketch to the band, they told them they love Aztec and Mayan culture, so Malleus moved on to the silkscreening.
Malleus worked on a cream paper for the regular version and on a raw light blue one for the variant.
Regular version is a limited edition of 138 and it is 20 x 28 inches and 5 colors. 100 will be on sale during the tour by Black Cobra. The variant edition is limited to only 30 and it goes on sale today Monday.
