Tomahawk are in the nations capital tonight, maybe they can rock some sense into those idiots in Washington DC. With just a couple of dates left on their American tour in Chicago and Detroit (no poster for Detroit) fans are loving their return again to the stage.
Once again tonight's poster is revealed here exclusively first.
Tonight's poster is done by Dan Grzeca, the posters is 18 x 24 and will have an edition of 200.
I asked Dan about his creative process for this poster:
Well, I've been playing with different animal forms in my prints and posters , wether they are larger than normal , or combinations of flesh and inorganic material, (wood, etc), or as in this case, just making up a different creature altogether.
In the case of the Tomahawk poster, I chose to use elements of two creatures that are iconic and important elements of native American storytelling, the American buffalo and the crow. While I don't think of Tomahawk as making native American music, since they are obviously a rock band, the visual nod to our past methods of telling stories on this continent works in this case, I think, as music is all about telling stories and painting moods , no matter what type of music it is. And man, Buffaloes are HEAVY- as is the playing of Mssrs Denison, Stanier, Dunn, and Patton. -Dan Grzeca
Dan will be selling his signed and numbered copies tonight at 9pm EDT in his store HERE
