I knew they discovered the Wow! Signal in Ohio so I wanted to find a way to show that on a poster. After doing some reading on the Native American tribes that settled in Ohio I thought it would be cool concept to decorate a Chippewa tipi with some more extraterrestrial decorations. AK

James Flames Umphrey's McGee Las Vegas Posters Release

This past weekend in Las Vegas, Umphrey's McGee held their 7th annual "UM Bowl" 2-Day Event, and James Flames was honored to have made the official poster for it.

One of the coolest aspects of this event is how the fans are given the opportunity to "conduct" the band by choosing the songs they will play in their set. As it was described to James by the band, it's like a concert version of "Choose Your Own Adventure", which is really cool.

So the image James created plays on that idea, where there is a conductor out on his balcony, conducting the symphony of guitar players and drummers in the entire neighborhood. And as the music starts, the magic begins to flow from everyone involved and out into the air.

These posters sold out at the event this weekend, but James will have a small amount of his Artist's Edition available, as well as two very special and exclusive variants: one on Lava HoloFoil, and one on Sparkle HoloFoil. All of which he screenprinted by hand.

James Flames Dazed And Confused Poster Release Plus Umphrey's McGee Major Rager Augusta Poster

On Tuesday James Flames will be releasing his Artist's copies of the new officially licensed Dazed and Confused poster he made with Mondo.

According to James, this is definitely one of his favorite movies, so he tried to include lots of little touches and nods to different elements of the film inside the details of the illustration.

You can see a bunch of close-up detail-shots of all these little things and subtle illustrative differences between the Regular and Variant editions. He is really excited how this came out, and proud to get these out into the world!

Also, tomorrow he'll release my Artist's copies of the new poster he did for last week's Major Rager event in Augusta, GA, as part of the Masters golf tournament. The show featured Umphrey's McGee, and the posters completely Sold Out within an hour of door's opening.

He hand-printed these using 5 colors/screens, and he also made a VERY small edition on Rainbow HoloFoil paper (only 8 of these).

Justin Santora Umphrey's McGee & Mike Gordon Poster Release

2016 is off to a busy start for Justin Santora! He has a new poster for the recent Umphrey's McGee show in Kalamazoo, MI. It's a six color screen print, printed on white Cougar cover, signed and numbered edition of 230.

The other poster is for Phish's Mike Gordon in Los Angeles. This print is four colors on Cougar white cover, signed and numbered A/P edition of just 25 (the prints sold at the show were from an edition of 100).

David Welker Approaching A Rift & Umphrey's McGee Summer Tour Poster Release Details

Earlier this year David Welker's good friends from Phish asked him to revisit and reinterpret his original album art for this Summer's vinyl release of the 1993 album "Rift" during Magnaball. Naturally this was a great challenge for David so he dug in deep and tried to recapture and expand upon the themes of the music and the old cover art.

David tried to imagine the main character in the moments he is drifting into the dream sequence. That fuzzy place in the subconscious mind when we transition from waking thought to the dream world where things begin to spin out of out of control.

This is a 12x12" four layer screen print. Bottleneck Gallery will have his personal signed and numbered artist proofs and some printers proof in editions of 60 and 30 respectively.

David almost forgot he had some of these Umphrey's McGee AP's in the studio So he figured he better release them before it starts to snow. Umphrey's McGee had a great Summer Tour and they wanted a vision of a dystopian future to set the mood.
