Brendan Monroe returns to 1xRUN with two new print releases as one of the Pow Wow Hawaii 2014 Featured Artists
Hole is a 24 x 36 screen print and will come in 2 colorways Silver & Gold. They will both be editions of 50 as well
"The original of this piece was a small piece that I did with ink and white gouache on paper. It was made as a part of my comic series ‘Islands’. In the story there’s a world that is entirely seen as wavy and blurred into abstracted line work, this piece is a part of that place.
I started working in strictly black and white a couple years ago as a challenge to try something new and see how I could translate a drawing with a limited visual language. Since then, I’ve made comics and a handful of other ink and gouache drawings. If they’re a series as a whole, they cover a lot of ground, from very careful detail drawings, to super loose brushwork drawings." - Brendan Monroe
