Mondo's next release is close to home with a poster for Drafthouse Films' THE KEEPING ROOM by Jay Shaw. THE KEEPING ROOM tells the story of three women living together during the twilight of the American Civil War. When a pair of wayward soldiers discover the women living on their own, the trio is forced to defend themselves and their home against violent invasion.
Said Jay of the film and his poster: "The film plays like a feminist STRAW DOGS set in 1865. I loved everything about this story. Brit Marling’s portrayal of the steely matron of the house is especially captivating. In the poster she’s portrayed as a woman on fire, flanked by the graves of the men who once protected her alongside the graves of those who crossed her path for the wrong reasons.”
The Keeping Room by Jay Shaw. 18"x24" screen print. Hand numbered. Edition of 75.
