French Paper Art Club and Geek-Art are proud to release a brand new limited and official print for our One Year of Batman collection, in collaboration with Warner and DC Comics. This piece was created by the illustrations and screen prints studio FugScreens, well known for having established the Galerie F in Chicago, a printmaking and street art gallery.
For our One Year of Batman project, FugScreens had the privilege to work on the mythic Dark Detective One Cover, originally drawn by Marshall Rogers. In the first issue of this 6 episodes story, the Joker is part of a gubernatorial election, with this insane slogan : "Vote for Me… Or I'll Kill you!". Written by Steve Englehart and drawn by Marshall Rogers (who sadly passed away in 2007) and Terry Austin, this story has become cult in the mind of many Batman fans.
FugScreens decided to completely deconstruct the cover and worked back on every colors with his unique style. The final art is gorgeous, a real tribute to the twisted and colored mind of the Dark Knight's nemesis. The devil is in the details, as it is said, and you can notice that the whole print is covered with hand drawn quotes from the comics. This one of a kind print in 13 colors including 2 metallic inks measuring 18 x 24 inches with an edition of 110 and will be available this Thursday in limited edition on French Paper Art Club.
