Nautilus Art Prints in collaboration with Les Films de Mon Oncle, is proud to announce the first print based on Jacques Tati’s classic movie “Jour de Fête”. Laurent Durieux’s retro-futuristic portrait of François the postman was his very first movie related illustration and is what brought his work some attention. “François à l’Americaine” will be the first of a series posters celebrating the work of the great Jacques Tati. .
After the end credits of a Jacques Tati film, a meandering journey starts within our imagination. Instantly a style, a language, a form of poetry and characters form within us. As Jacques said " I want the movie to start once you leave the theater."
